Are these Braxton Hicks?

I'm near enough 8 months pregnant & for quite a few weeks now I have noticed that my stomach randomly goes very hard. When this happens, it doesn't hurt/feel uncomfortable/take my breath away - in fact, I only notice that this is happening if I touch/prod/rub my belly.

When it happens, my whole stomach feels rock hard; almost the same as when my baby pushes/stretches himself out towards me, but I'm sure that it can't be him because it's listerally my entire stomach that feels this way. It almost feels as though I'm tensing all of my stomach muscles when I know for a fact that I'm not!

I've also noticed that my stomach seems to relax itself when this happens after anything between 30 seconds - 1 minute, and sometimes it happens again shortly afterwards, and then other times it doesn't return.

So - are these BH?!

Could be - the rock hard description sounds about right. I'm 29 weeks with DC3 and have been having them daily for a couple of hours. Been happening for a few weeks now. Rock hard belly, but I do find them uncomfortable - not painful but enough to make me moan about them Wink

I'm almost 34 weeks, and I guess after reading online I just expected them to feel like something, if that makes sense, so I've been doubting myself for weeks!

I can't believe how hard my stomach goes, which is why I wondered if they were BH - but I find it so odd that I don't even realise that they're happening! This is my first baby - I wonder if that makes a difference, or if I'm just odd!

Thanks ladies :)

Yup. I experienced them both times and they would be worse if I was extremely tired or dehydrated or both. It was an easy way to get signed off doing night shifts (nurse). And the day I went into labour with my second (@37+3) I started out having BH which got very tight and then pop went my waters and 4hrs later he was in my arms.
