Bleeding 9 weeks

I know that many people have posted about this before and gone on to have successful pregnancies but I can't help fearing he worst.

I have just woken up for a wee and am bleeding. Looks dark brown in my underwater but has a pinkish tinge.

I am very worried. I had no bleeding before (3rd pregnancy). I actually have a scan booked tomorrow at 2pm but wonder if I should still call my ob gyn first thing to see what they say or just wait. Doubt he can see me any earlier but don't know how I'll get through the morning at work.

Just need to get it off my chest. Don't want to wake DH up.

Hi jimthecat, sorry you're going through this! I must say though, you'll probably feel better if you do wake your DH up - he'd probably want to comfort you if he knew you were worrying xx

I am one of those who's been in your position when pregnant with DS. Itwas my second pregnancy with no history of bleeding in the first and I was fully convinced that blood meant the worst, so we went to the local hospital just after midnight and they scanned me there and then. I was so shocked when the scan showed a heartbeat and that the pregnancy was almost three weeks further on than previously thought!

So it really could be fine, but try and get a hug from DH and get some rest tonight if you can 🌺

How heavy is it OP? Is it more spotting or would it fill a pad?

Thanks for replies. I did wake DH up and he told me not to worry but it's hard not to. I did finally get some sleep.
Just woken up again and still bleeding. Does seem a huge amount, not sure how much though. Still brown / pink.
Have a tightness around the lower abdomen but wouldn't say it was painful.
Have told my boss I'm working from home. Can't face going in before the scan.

Good luck with your scan today. I've had bleeding or spotting with all my three children and this baby also.

It doesn't always mean the worst, but I know how awful and stressful it is. Thinking of you and sending you good luck Flowers

Thanks snowflake.
Not long to go now and the bleeding seems to be subsiding. Hoping for the best.

Thanks everyone Flowers

The scan was good, heartbeat and saw the baby moving around. Problem is that the placenta hasn't fully attached which has caused the bleed. Doc said it's quite common and will see me again in 10 days to see how we're getting along. No sport or strenuous activities for a while though. I hope that means I can be excluded from cooking!

So glad baby was active and all ok.

Try to take it easy, no heavy lifting etc.

Sure it'll reattach soon if you can rest. Our bodies are amazing at healing. I had an amniotic tear with my second daughter and that healed itself.
