Hi all. Well yesterday I turned 35 weeks pregnant. After multiple complications etc including many bleeding episodes and having to go on maternity earlier than thought it seems to be going well. But I am constantly worrying about stillbirth. I can't stop thinking about it. I am booked in for an elective section on 22nd December after having 2 previous bad tears with my daughters. I just can't imagine bringing baby home. This was an unexpected pregnancy and were told early on I had miscarried. But baby hung in there. Growth scans etc show baby is developing well. I do have gestational diabetes but have managed to diet control really well apparently. It has been 7 years nearly since I was last pregnant and can't remember being so worried then. Any advice??

Sorry, no advice but I'm in the same boat. Did your anxiety start after the misdiagnosed mc? This is my third pregnancy, first was fine but second was an ectopic that ruptured and it was awful. That has traumatised me and I just can't imagine now that this pregnancy will go ok. It's really thrown me, do you think your earlier scare has done that to you?

The only thing I try to do, which helps somewhat, is hold on to stats. The things we're scared of are usually very unlikely in the scheme of things.

I was fine in my pregnancy until I had a bleed at 16 weeks, then I spent the rest of it completely anxious. I think holding onto stats is a good idea. My baby came early but stats were reassuring even then. Focus on 22nd December and take each day as it comes, I'm sure your Christmas baby will be healthy and beautiful!

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. It sounds like you've had some worrying times and is completely natural you would feel anxious. I'm 32 weeks with my first - v straightforward pregnancy so far - and I worry daily! Have you tried some relaxation/meditation exercises? Not for everyone, I know, but could be helpful in clearly some of the niggling thoughts from your brain. Good luck - you're so nearly there!

I was fine until 20 weeks when we were told our baby has major heart abnormalitys. He's to be taken away at birth to be stabilised and transferred to another hospital while I recover from the birth until I'm well enough to leave. I have huge fears he won't cry at birth and stay blue. (Which they said is a 50/50chance) I fear He will die very soon after birth and I won't be bringing him home so because of this I haven't boiught him anything. Family members have and kept it at their house incase we need it. I have 6 weeks left and I'm terrified of that day he makes his appearance. Once it's time to push I know I will hold back knowing once he's born he's in a whole load of trouble. I wish I could enjoy my pregnancy and be excited about my baby's arrival and I feel guilty for not feeling that way about him. I say if you truly have nothing to worry about the don't worry and enjoy your pregnancy. Stay vigilant for movements and feeling unwell of course!! But enjoy the time you have of that little baby inside of you

I'm expecting a healthy baby but I worry about a stillbirth as well. I don't think I'll accept he's okay until he's in my arms alive and kicking!

I find talking about my fears helps. Do you have anyone you can talk to?
