How many can you see

mrschatty Sat 03-Sep-16 20:38:26

I see two babies! Or what I think is babies but I'm not great with scan pics flowers

Soubriquet Sat 03-Sep-16 20:39:16

That certainly looks like twins

honeysucklejasmine Sat 03-Sep-16 20:39:41

Presumably the sonographer would have told you?

MrSlant Sat 03-Sep-16 20:40:38

Did the sonographer tell you there were twins? IME unless you are the one wielding the scan probe it's very hard to say what you are looking at.

TheEagle Sat 03-Sep-16 20:41:02

What did the sonographer say?

I can only see one sac, are they mo-mo twins?

GlitteryFluff Sat 03-Sep-16 20:43:13

It could be two or one bent round ?

Sashloux Sat 03-Sep-16 20:43:17

Yeah the midwife said they will be identical the scan was private and I am going back for a re scan

TheEagle Sat 03-Sep-16 20:47:01

There are two types of identical twins - ones who share a placenta but have separate sacs and ones who share a placenta and a sac.

Does your sonographer think the twins share a sac? How far along are you?

I'm rubbish at reading scans and my 12 week scan with my DTs wasn't very clear so maybe the next scan will be clearer. Best of luck flowers

Sashloux Sat 03-Sep-16 20:49:38

Yeah sharing the same sac, she' thinks twins but that scan was done at 7weeks 5 days so going back thank you

TheEagle Sat 03-Sep-16 20:51:48

Ok, so I'd advise you to stay away from Google for now and relax until your next scan! All the best smile

neversleepagain Sat 03-Sep-16 20:52:45

My scan was at 13 weeks and was clear it was twins. Congrats!

Sashloux Sat 03-Sep-16 21:09:03

Do you have a picture of your 13wk scan Hun do you think they are twins??

neversleepagain Sat 03-Sep-16 21:19:35

I am rubbish at scan pics. If sonographer said twins then it is!

EreniTheFrog Sun 04-Sep-16 08:28:09

I think that's twins!

Annabrooke90 Sun 04-Sep-16 11:32:16

To me that looks like an embryo and the yolk sac, this is what all of my singletons looked like early on the placenta then takes over and the other round blob disappears. I don't understand how she could 'think' it was twins because at seven weeks and five days they should have had a heartbeat. Did both of the blobs have a heartbeat? Im not a sonographer but the top righthand sided one does look the yolk sac and not another embryo.

I hope you get some more answers soon.

Annabrooke90 Sun 04-Sep-16 11:38:50

Just to show you what I mean, this isn't my scan because unfortunately the hospital doesn't give early scan pictures in my town, so this is a Google images one of a seven week embryo and yolk images as two things. Hope it makes more sense with the image.

Sashloux Sun 04-Sep-16 18:31:16

Yeah I see just throws me as there's a clear line between them if it was a yolk sac they wouldn't be a line

Annabrooke90 Sun 04-Sep-16 20:03:07

I'm sure you will get a definite answer on your next scan...good luck 🍀
