Morning sickness advice

Hi ladies, I'm hoping someone can give me some words of wisdom.
I'm 14 weeks and had a bit of a rough ride so far. I've been vomiting since about 6 weeks, peaking at being sick 4 times a day. I've managed to cope with it because I'm a teacher and I've been off work for the last 6 weeks meaning I've been able to eat, drink and sleep when I need to.
I'm now (only) vomiting about once a day in the evening but feel horrendous all day long. As well as that I'm so hungry and almost fainted yesterday when I was doing my shopping.
I've no idea how I will function with 30 teenagers when school starts.

If I go to the doctor do you think they will offer me medication? Even though I'm not dehydrated or losing weight? Im worried I'll be told to stop being dramatic. Just feeling a bit fed up with it today :(

Get down the doctors!

I began relatively normal sickness - once a morning at end of 7 weeks, by week 9 it was full blown horrible sickness, on some occasions every 20 minutes for over 12 hours, struggling to keep even water down.

I was given one lot of anti sickness first (Avamine?) but didn't work and second batch - Ciclizine - which really did work and for 2 whole weeks I felt human again. Don't suffer in silence, I'm sure they'll give you something

I had really bad sickness with my first pregnancy - constantly feeling sick, was sick 3/4 times a day and generally couldn't eat a thing. I struggled on as I thought it was the norm. It's only been in my current pregnancy where I've had (what I would call) normal morning sickness that I've realised how bad it was first time and I should have gone to the doctors about it.

Think it's worth a visit to your doctor.

With me I didn't have much sickness but for 1st trim I ate grapefruits. It has a sour taste which prevents me from being sick.

If your sickness is getting really worse then go to GP they might give you some anti sickness that is safe to take. :)

Hey, I'm 13+4 and having a pretty rotten time of it with sickness. I went to the docs a week ago and got prescribed Cyclizine and so far they are helping ( though I had a terrible day yesterday). I have been suffering with dehydration and have had UTI's and the doc spotted ketones in my wee... Must get more fluids in. Can you have any food to snack on in class? I'm fortunate that I can graze when I need to (though if it's a day like yesterday no grazing will help! )
P.S if one more person tells me to eat ginger I'll scream!

I had hyperemises with all my 3 dc so totally sympathise. The doc can prescribe anti-sickness tablets which may help and eating little and often can be a big help if you can manage.. Unfortunately i couldn't keep anything down &'tried all the ginger biscuits, mint tea old wives tales.. Load of rubbish ha ha xx

I'm now 17+5 and still get nausea and sickness. Went to the GP last week and he gave me avomine. A miracle cure. Go and see the dr and get it sorted. I wish I had gone sooner.

Thank you all for your kind words, I think I'll go to the doctor tomorrow. I'm still convinced I'll be told to go away - I don't think I'm as bad as some of you ladies, as I'm lucky in that I'm now getting an hour or two in the morning when i can drink lots to stop myself getting dehydrated. But anyway, we'll see!

I was prescribed cyclizine for terrible nausea. I was only sick 3 times in total so docs should be sympathetic. Don't hold back and tell them just how bad you feel x

Pregnancy Sickness Support. Lots of advice here, including how to approach your GP. I had every anti sickness drug going in both pg!
