Is it too early to feel movement?

I am only 13+3 but when I'm laying still, in the bath or in bed, I can sometimes feel a strange fluttering sensation in my lower abdomen. I'm sure it's a feeling I've never had before. Could it be the baby moving?

Btw it is DC1Smile

It'd be quite unusual but not impossible. I felt DS1 at 16.5 weeks and DS2 at 14.5. Enjoy - this is the fun bit!

Hi pretty

I'm sure the professionals books etc will tell you it is, especially with your first.

I'm currently 20wks with my first and felt a sudden flutter in my lower abdomen at 14 weeks. I discounted it, telling myself it couldn't be but then started getting regular movements, that felt exactly the same at 16 weeks.

I think you can feel it earlier but perhaps most people don't notice it or explain it away at that point.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and enjoy the movements!

Are you quite slim? I'm a 10-12 anyway but was slightly slimmer this time plus my muscles are already knackered so I guess there isn't anywhere for baby to hide.

I could feel DD from 13 weeks. Needed to be examined due to illness at 14 weeks 5 days-dr couldn't locate baby but when I pointed to where I felt the movement the heart beat was picked up clearly immediately. The dr did comment that it was considered early to feel movement at 13 weeks though.

Yes I am quite slim, but have put on 4kgSadWhen I Look at my stomach I can see it slightly moving, almost like a vibration. My mum told me it's probably just wind I'm feeling but I know what wind feels like and I could swear it is not that Hmm

Maybe I am just too excited and my head is playing games. My scan is tomorrow so this is why I am so excited. Grin

Thanks for the replies everyone

I felt DD at about 12 weeks too. All the websites, books, etc. say it's much later, but there's no doubt in my mind that that was what I felt. Over the weeks the feeling just got more regular and stronger!

I couldn't see her move for a fair bit longer though. What I could see, especially when lying in the bath was my stronger pulse in my tummy. Possibly from the placenta (mine was anterior) or maybe just because of the extra blood flow.

Anyway congratulations, good luck for your scan and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! It's such a special time.

Yeah, my non-pregnant tummy does the vibratey thing too. I've even seen what look like kicks and done a pregnancy test but it was just wind bubbling! The two sensations can be quite similar but 'flutters' are something quite unique to pregnancy in my experience.

It's your baby. I could feel my dd at 14 weeks. I felt this one at 12.

I felt my baby at about 12 weeks. Only tiny vibrations. Almost like a buzzing in my womb that was different to wind. It was a while before the buzzing become fluttery kicks and punches. I think some people are just more sensitive to very subtle changes in their body. I hope you really enjoy your scan today. It's a magical experience!

I'm 14 weeks and sometimes feel a tickly feeling. I like to think its baby and not wind.

I felt baby movements, very very subtle movements from about 13 weeks. It wasn't regularly, but I could feel them. From about 15/16 weeks it felt more clearly like the baby and now at nearly 19 weeks I can definitely feel baby moving around and kicking.

It's very clearly nestled high up in the mornings and mostly stays on my right hand side. The left hand side of my tummy is still pretty soft while the right is solid!

I had word vibrating baby feeling too, from about 13/14 weeks. Felt like there was a phone on vibrate actually inside my womb.

25+2 now and no mistaking kicks, getting booted in the fanny from the inside is the weirdest feeling I've ever had to accept.
