Exercise classes - indiscreet instructor, help!

I recently went to a pilates class and had a very quiet word with the instructor at the beginning to say I am 6 weeks pregnant. I am new to pilates so wanted her to be aware incase anything should be modified. I'd assumed that by being so quiet telling her, and saying I am 'very early - only 6 weeks' she would operate a bit of discretion. But before I knew it, the entire room had been told, and the class then continued with her talking loudly across the room to me about what I could expect as I get bigger, how big the bump will be, and 'are you sure you're only 8 weeks? You're showing a lot!' (I nearly died as didn't realize this, and had been planning to hold off telling work til I am more like 14 weeks).

So what I am really wondering now is;

Can I go to exercise classes (perhaps other than hers) and be assured the instructor will use a bit more discretion?

Which exercise is the best to do in early pregnancy?

I don't want to not do exercise just because of indiscreet instructors, but also I can't risk everyone knowing incase someone I know is in the class!

The instructor sounds like a dick. I went to two classes in early pregnancy and both instructors were very discreet, and just pulled me to the side at the end of the class to tell me about any modifications I could make (due to slight dizziness).

She sounds very unprofessional, id look for somewhere else and when you mention it to new instructor stress you'd like it kept quiet until you say otherwise!

I think you were wrong to blithely assume she wouldn't say anything but I also think she was wrong not to engage her brain and blab. Plus some of her comments were rude.

I'd find a new class.

I have no idea as it's my first pregnancy. I guess I just assumed that someone saying very quietly that they are pregnant, and only 6 weeks, would imply that discretion is expected. I'm not too worried about it though, I am just thinking a) is this normal - i.e. can I only tell an instructor if I am happy for it to be made public? and b) is pilates actually a sensible thing to be doing or shall I go for another form of exercise?

I teach Pilates and am 19 weeks pregnant. I would never disclose someone was pregnant and as a health professional as well I have it drummed into me about patient confidentiality so maybe that's why it's the norm not to. I only told my class last week as am aware of my abilities and demonstrating some exercises was challenging. My bump is still well hidden so no one guessed. Happy to answer any questions about ante natal Pilates as have qualifications in teaching it specifically. It's very good during pregnancy but important to know the things you shouldn't do and at what stage.

It's not a state secret.
It's nothing to be ashamed of.
It wasn't sensitive but welcome to the very insensitive world out there.

My gym instructor was the 2nd person to know after my husband - I'd have been absolutely mortified if he's said anything to anyone! Admittedly my gym is associated with work and I was very clear that this was top secret but he said he was very used to that and if anyone commented on me doing different versions of things in a class I should tell them I was recovering from an abdominal tear.
Pilates is good in pregnancy, as is yoga and for general fitness, swimming. I'd just find a different class - that instructor sounds awful!
