Getting married - will I have an obvious bump?

I'm nearly 6 weeks pregnant and getting married in August. When I get married I will be 15+2 weeks, I'm just wondering if I will have an obvious bump then?

It's my first baby, I'm a 12/14 and my wedding dress is quite fitted around the middle (see pic.) I went for a fitting recently and the people at the shop didn't seem concerned that my dress wouldn't fit at 15 weeks as it has a lace up back so is adjustable but I have some people from work coming to the wedding and ideally I'd like to keep it secret for a bit longer if possible.

Just wondering how quickly people had obvious bumps?

I had no obvious bump with my first for a long time! Noticeable when I was naked from around 24 weeks, noticeable with normal clothes on from around 26/27 weeks.
I'm 17 weeks with my second baby at the moment and am struggling to hide it Blush

I was 16 weeks and frankly I just looked fat! A bump would have been preferable...

You probably won't have a noticeable bump until around 20 weeks. I was size 10 with DD1 and didnt get a bump until 21/22 weeks. I did look at little pudgy but that's because I ate for two! So as long as you dont do that you'll probably be fine.

You'll probably be fine, I had no noticeable bump at that point. I'm now 23 weeks with my first and it's only really become slightly noticeable through clothes in the last couple of weeks, and only to people that are looking for it.

I went to a wedding when I was 16 weeks pg with my first. I had to wear a different style dress which skimmed rather than was fitted, as I didn't have a baby bump as such, but looked like I'd put a few lb on.

I think your dress looks great for the stage you'll be, as although fitted, it flares round slightly from the waist doesn't it, rather than being straight down. Lovely dress. Congratulations (on wedding and pg!)

Thanks everyone, that sounds hopeful then Smile

I did consider just saying I had been stress eating because of the wedding ha ha Grin

I think with a first baby you'll be fine at 15 weeks.

I didn't tell work about my twin pregnancy until 20 weeks! I wore a fitted suit dress every day by the end as it seemed to hold it in and smooth the outlines. If I wore jersey of any description then it because very obvious!

Congratulations on your pregnancy and your wedding Smile

I think you will be fine with the first. I'm 20 weeks with my first and it's only just starting to show. We get married in 6 weeks so I'll def be showing by then!!

I started to really show at 18 weeks. Before that I just looked chubby.

I'm 14 weeks with my first and no signs of any bump yet! I think you will be fine. Congratulations

No, you'll be fine. I got married at 17+2 with my first, breasts were bigger and I'd thickened slightly round the middle, but you almost certainly won't have a bump and people will have to be really alert to even notice you're pregnant at all.

Thanks all, yes my boobs have already significantly increased in size. Hopefully I can keep them contained Smile

Weirdly, I'm 15+2 today with my first! I'm 5"6 and a size 10.

My bump seems to have become more noticeable literally in the last couple of days, however I think you will be fine, especially as it's a lace up dress. Lovely dress btw!

I think you'll be fine at 15 weeks. I was 20 weeks before I had a proper bump. At 40 weeks I tried my wedding dress on for a laugh as it was our 1 year anniversary (and our due date) and despite having a massive bump it still fitted 😂 I had a lace up back too that was on the tightest on my wedding day so that must have been why I could still wriggle it on Grin

Your dress is beautiful and I hope you have a lovely day.

With the way your dress crosses over at the front and the ruches in the fabric, I think even a tiny bump wouldn't be noticeble. I didn't pop until around 19 weeks. Gorgeous dress by the way :)

I was 13ish weeks pregnant on my wedding day (with my first). Honestly the bump didn't really show until much later; and my seamstress even told me off for losing too much weight (thanks to the morning sickness!) so she had to take the dress in a bit more! It had a lace up back as well.
My dress looked similar to yours and I think the fabric is so thick and firm anyway that it hides quite a bit even if there is the beginning of a bump. But rest assured, you won't look heavily pregnant!

Thanks everyone, you have all been so lovely and helpful about the bump and the dress. We are very excited about both Grin

You should be fine, I got married at 21 wks with my first and the lace up back of my dress was sufficient to allow for the small bump I had developed from 16wks onward. Your dress looks perfect to allow for a little bump. Congratulations on your pregnancy and hope wedding plans are going well.

Oh just to add on a slightly different issue, eisberg do alcohol free wine, rose, whIte and red, as do the supermarkets. Tesco also do an alcohol free pinotage Rose sparkling, which is really good, so if you were looking to not make it obvious, you could easily get away with it by printing up 'special wedding labels' for your own bottle on the table for toasts etc Grin

I got married at 16 weeks with my first and no noticeable bump. Just bigger boobs and slight thickening at bottom that dress just laced around.

I'm 15+1 with my first and I have a little bump... it's only noticeable in tight clothing, though. It'd be invisible in your dress (gorgeous!) so I think you'll be fine even if you are showing a bit!

Congrats, have a lovely day :)
