Hello
I've got a real dilemma. I'm 17 weeks pregnant - I had a miscarriage last year so it is great to get to this stage. During the pregnancy though my job (which I love) has been a little unstable. There have been discussions about expanding my department by adding another team to it. I really want this to happen and I've basically been pushing for this for six months. It's now all agreed but hasn't been announced officially.
It should be announced in the next fortnight though the organisation isn't brilliant at getting things done on time. I'm wondering if I can really wait to tell people I'm pregnant until then. I'm worried that if I say anything before then, the whole thing could be postponed or just not happen and after advocating this for 6 months I would really hate to go back to square one. There are some bullying issues to tackle in the new team that were being left to fester and I really want to sort them out so no-one else suffers.
I don't think anyone has guessed so far. I've been extremely careful in what I wear to work. But it's hard to be 100% sure. I was thinking I could explain to my boss I was worried about saying something earlier given my previous miscarriage, which is also a factor.
So am I bonkers to think I can keep this quiet until 19/20 weeks? Would really appreciate some advice - I'm naturally a very open person so I'm finding keeping this quiet very hard indeed.
Thank you anyone who has advice and good luck to everyone with their pregnancies. It's not easy!
