When will this baby show himself???

Also posted in Childbirth but thought I'd put it on here as well for traffic.
Currently 39+3 with DC2. Had an appointment with the obstetric consultant at my local hospital yesterday. He examined me and said that I'm about 2cm dilated, and that the neck of my womb is very thin and soft
He gave me a stretch and sweep (OUCH!) which resulted in some bleeding and not much else. Had some on and off crampy pains last night that were pretty painful but nothing regular.
Today I've had a show, some heaviness and discomfort; but the main thing is bad vaginal and rectal pressure
Seriously, it feels like his head is right there as it were. Lots of shooting pains up there as well. Anyone had a similar experience to this? Any ideas on when I can expect to be able to snuggle my baby?

Sounds like it won't be too long to me, hopefully in the next couple of days! Keep trying to relax and keep walking, bouncing on a birthing ball etc.

I have no idea Boop but hopefully soon for you. From all the endless threads I've read about labour starting it seems it is different for everyone and you just can't tell. I'm desperate to get going with labour but I'm hanging on and will only consider intervention after 42 weeks. Currently 40+3 so it could be a long old wait. Just wanted to say I sympathise and are there any threads for people waiting around like us?

I definitely will. Nothing yet. I'm off for a vigorous walk this afternoon! And then DS1 is at a party at a soft play/trampoline centre later on. Knowing my luck my waters will go in the ball pool and terrify the kiddies.

I'm 39 +3 and my baby seems to be in no rush to show himself either. I had my show on Tuesday and havr had some irregular cramps but it all stopped yesterday morning and all I'm having now is Braxton hicks and loose bowels (tmi). I'm also going to go on a long walk today to see if I can get this baby out. I have an induction date of the 21st may as my midwife said I'm only allowed to go 10 days over due but I really hope I don't have to wait that long.
