Our NCT course leader suggested a labour playlist might be helpful to get the oxytocin flowing. What would be on yours? Funny or serious suggestions welcome!

i think I'm going for a relaxing accoustic for the early stages of contractions (jack johnson etc), dance music that would suit running for the more intense contractions and finally guitar rock for the birth... i'm thinking some Biffy Clyro to push out to. The heavier stuff.

I put together a birth CD and thought so hard about what I thought I'd like at different stages.

On the day I wanted SILENCE. I snapped the CD in half in an utter rage.

I asked my pregnancy yoga teacher for the playlists she used in our classes. Sooooo chilled!

As it turned out, DS blasted out in 40 mins with the help of forceps so it didn't get played. Creating it helped me prepare though and was fun :)

The last thing you want is sodding music playing believe me. Well I didn't.

Cautionary tale my friend was fiddling with her CDs when her labour started with her dd2. She thought she had ages but due to cd faffing ended up having her Dd in the hospital car park in the cab delivered by the cabbie.
