retained products after missed miscarriage and medical management

Hello, I had a mmc in March I didn't realise i was pregnant and when i found out I was 10 1/2 weeks gone. went for a scan and they told me I suffered a mmc and lost the baby at 6-8 weeks they weren't to sure as my dates confused them as I was still on the pill at the time

Anyway last Friday I had the medical management pessaries I took them at 5.30pm and it didn't start untill 4.20am Saturday morning I had no pain at all or cramps which after reading a lot of posts on medical management I was very shocked and happy I didn't have the pain. I passed ALOT of clots and a lot of blood which i was happy about as it meant the medical management was working and a week and few days on I'm still bleeding nothing majorly heavy and a few clots here and there but what I am wondering is I have a re scan this coming Friday I haven't yet done a pregnancy test but was wondering do you think it is still possible to have retained products left?

Hi - This post would probably be best on the miscarriage thread. There's loads of lovely ladies on there who offer lots of help and support.

I had a MMC over Christmas, which sounds very similar to yours. I didn't have any real pain and the bleeding never got to the level I was expecting despite passing clots. However on about 6-7th day I had a lot of pain and passed what I believe was the baby. However, I also had a follow up scan and I had retained products. I was offered the medical management route again or I could have an operation. I decided to have the operation.

So, it is possible that on Friday you will find out you've retained some products. And it is also possible that before now and then you pass something more significant.

Awh okay wel I passed a lot of stuff into the toilet I couldn't look though but could feel it. I am still bleeding after 12 weeks and I think this is normal Jjst hoping that Friday everything is okay as I don't want the operation but glad to hear that gave you the option of tablet again!!

So scan showed abit of retained products left in me- the doctor said its nothing to worry about as the worst is overV but the scan lady told me something different she told me that there was a lot left inside but the doctor said the worst was over :/ I am abir confused tbh but they don't want to see me for any re scan only unless I want one ? is that a good thing or bad thing do you think

I had a medical management for retained products which were originally missed because they did not re-scan me.

Medical management normally works but your own piece of mind I would have another scan.
