Illness and weight loss @ 21 weeks

I'll just start by saying I'm pretty sure I'm worrying over nothing.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant, all fine with the pregnancy, no problems.

For the last week and a half I have been really poorly with laryngitis and bronchitis. Still feeling rough now but starting to improve. Despite this I have been drinking plenty and trying to eat well (DH has been great at feeding me), however I weighed myself today and I've lost 1/2 stone.

I had previously gained around a stone this pregnancy, but now only half a stone above my pre-pregnancy weight. Don't think I've been eating too badly / little so wondering if this is just my body working extra hard to fight the illness.

Should I be worried do you think? This baby #2 so won't be seeing midwife again till 28 weeks.

Thanks for reading..!

Don't worry- baby will have taken what it needs from what you ate and any fat stores you have.

At 18 weeks I'd lost 8lbs and didn't regain it and start putting on weight until 25weeks. My DS was born at 38 weeks weighing a healthy 6lbs 6 (midwife thought he'd have been a respectable 7 and a half lbs full term) and is now a healthy 13 week old. So please don't worry.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
