Due Date....

This topic has probably been covered a million times before so apologies in advance!
According to the date of my last period my baby is due on 13th March. However, the midwives/consultants have given me the date of 8th March (following my 12 week scan).
So - my question is - who's right?!
It didn't feel like a big deal until now!
Anyone had a similar experience?
Thank you! x

You ovulate at differing times during your cycle, some months can be pearly, some late. This is why the nhs will use your scan date as your edd from now on.

Measuring the size and development of the baby around 12 weeks is the more accurate measure of due date (don't forget 'term' is 3 weeks before and 2 weeks after your edd)

I might have misunderstood, but you've only just had your 12-week scan and you're due next week?
I don't suppose that's relevant - sorry - congratulations on your pregnancy and really the scan dates are just a guideline - "term" is classed as anything between 37-42 weeks. My DS came at 37+1 and I was fully expecting this baby to do the same, but now at 39+3 and no sign yet...
Good luck with the birth.

Sorry for the confusion! I am 39 weeks pregnant - I was just referring to my 12 week scan when my due date was given!

And bear in mind it's actually a guess date. Babes come when they're ready! Congrats and good luck!
