When did you feel baby move?

I know everyone is going tone different, I'm nearly 18 weeks and can't wait to feel movement! Is it usually quite obvious that it's baby? Smile

DC1 20 weeks, this pregnancy about 15 weeks. It'll feel like popping in your tummy, you might not be sure at first but as it keeps happening itll get more obvious.

You'll feel it within a week or so I'm sure!

With dc1, probably around this stage. I felt it first lke butterflies in tummy, which became stronger over the days so I started to realise that it was the baby Smile lovely feelings.

Felt it much sooner with dcs2&3, as recognised them for early flutters, rather than the thumping kick you expect (don't worry it won't be long before you get that!)

Just before 20 weeks. She wasn't keen on turbulence on a flight. I think she was adopting the brace position!

24 weeks before I was sure but I had fluttering before then.
It will also depend on where your placenta is

18 weeks exactly and I had a posterior placenta

18+1 first movement and it was a visible kick

22 weeks with first, earlier with second when my stomach muscles were already shot, lol

Apparently the stronger your stomach muscles are, the later you feel it. Obviously a generalisation, but I found it to be the case.

I didn't feel anything with my first until about 22 weeks - but it was fairly strong from then onwards. I'm now 19 weeks with my second and haven't felt anything definite yet. Both pregnancies I've had an anterior placenta.

21 weeks with the first, 13 weeks with the second. I suspect I had probably been feeling it longer with the first, but didn't recognise it as the baby moving, just thought I had wind GrinBlush The second time I recognised it straight away, which is why I think I felt it a lot earlier Smile

Ooh thank you everyone, I can't wait. I do a lot of horse riding and think my stomach muscles are quite strong so I bet I'll take ages to feel anything Angry

I'm 22 weeks on Sunday and I've been feeling fluttering/bubbles for a few weeks but no kicks yet. Can't wait. When you have your 20week scan you will see the baby moving around lots which is gorgeous

About 22 weeks with my first, but it really does depend where your placenta is, I had an anterior placenta with my youngest (number 5) and I felt movement later and a lot less than with the others, you'll feel
It soon, or you might be already as it feels like bubbles in your belly and you might not have noticed yet 😊

How will I know where placenta is? Will I be told at 20 week scan?

Yes bean they should tell you where the placenta is or you can ask. I have a posterior placenta so I should feel more, but I only felt DC1 at around 22 weeks. It felt like bubbles popping and quite subtle.

First o was 18 weeks but second I had placenta at front and barely felt her move the whole time. I had to be lying on my back and really still, then poke her!
She rarely sits still now....

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and have been focused on whether I can feel him move. I've got an anterior placenta so I'm putting it down to that why I'm not feeling as much. I have some little, hardly noticeable popping in my tummy, usually after a cold drink or something sugary. I'm still in the stage of wondering if it's baby or if it's my tummy reacting to what I'm drinking/eating. Sometimes feels like an ever so slight twinge/tapping. I'm hoping its baby but I will remain inconclusive until I feel a thwack now! Roll on the scan!

Absolutely nothing til about 21 weeks. Then it was definite, strong movement, it came on almost overnight. I didn't feel any flutters or popping sensations.

Movement is lovely until you're up all night being kicked Grin

They told me about my placenta at 20 week scan.
You can mistake movement for wine at first - I was lying down and concentrating when I felt my first movements. I thought I was imagining things until the scan when she told me that baby was basically kicking right into my stomach!

Congratulations, Beansprout!
There's a July 2016 Babies group that you'd be most welcome to join (I think you're due towards end July?). We have these sorts of conversations all the time (we're a chatty bunch - we're already on Thread 6!)
Some of the ladies in the group are expecting their 2/3/4th baby and are full of lots of little gems of wisdom. - I've found it enormously helpful.
I'm just a few days ahead of you (DC1) and likewise really impatiently looking forward to feeling the first flutters.

Hello Mascaraisamust, nice to see you here!
