Any experts at interpreting blood test results?

Bloods taken today - I could be anywhere between 5 and 6 weeks pregnant.

HCG came back as 2300 and progesterone as 23.

I got the impression from the nurse that it's not great news but any other insights would be much appreciated.

At 5 weeks my hcg levels were only 270 and a few days later had only reached 450. I'm now 37 weeks pregnant so your levels are better than mine

Good luck

Thank you for replying. I had a mc at 5 weeks a few months ago so feeling very anxious about this one. My scan also showed that I am measuring small for dates and no hb was detected. Nurse suggested a 50% chance of miscarrying again.

Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy.

Id early scan on Monday and no heartbeat either. Have to go back on 23rd for further scan. I'm trying to stay positive tho, as 6 weeks can be early to detect. I hope x

Certainly at 5/6 weeks it didn't look promising (on scan) for this pregnancy (now 24 weeks).
I've no idea what the levels were though. Best wishes x

Just looked at my docs email to me and mine was 347 at nearly 5 weeks so yours sounds pretty strong. I think anything over 100 to several thousand is normal - the key thing is how much they multiply over a period of time. Didn't have a progesterone test. I'd be pleased with that hcg number tho!

Thanks everyone.

Went to see my GP this morning and he said not to worry too much about the progesterone and that things are very variable at this stage.

Just going to have to hang in there for the next two weeks. It's going to be a long wait!

Good luck for your scan RoTo72.
