I don't know what to do. Just lost my temper in work over the smallest thing. I get so angry I can't keep it In and then I'm the opposite and want to cry. I'm only seven weeks so to early to tell anyone in work. I really don't know what to do.

Whether you've announced it or not pregnancy is not an excuse to behave unreasonably. I think you need to try to hold it together a bit more.

I agree with poocatcher in the sense that whether you've told anyone or not isn't really the issue. Even if everyone knew, you still wouldn't be able to get angry at work because it's just not ok.

Having said that, I feel for you and early pregnancy is hard ! Try to make sure you don't let yourself get hungry, because I think that makes mood swings worse. If someone or something is annoying you, make your excuses and walk away. If you feel tears coming on, excuse yourself and get somewhere private for a few minutes. Take care of yourself as it's not great for the baby to let yourself get upset (easier said than done though!).

Hang in there and after a few weeks you'll be more like your usual self Smile

I wasn't trying to excuse myself, I have just been thrown today but the waves of emotions I have been feeling. I have spoken to my colleague and apologised and in no way think it's alright for me to loose my temper.

I was looking to see if this is normal, not for everyone to say excuse my moods for me. This is my first pregnancy and don't know what to expect and am feeling totally lost. My partner bless him is very supportive but I thought people going through the same thing might know how I'm feeling.

Hold yourself together. How rude. She is obviously struggling and that kind of advice isn't helpful. Hope you are ok I know how hard it is myself.

I do know how you're feeling, and please don't feel more sad following other responses. It's like rollercoasters of the worst PMT ever. Yes, it's correct that's it's not ok to snap at your colleagues, but perhaps just tell them you're not feeling well, apologise and then explain in X weeks time when you're happy to share your news. At 7 weeks pregnant, I had an appalling meeting with senior people. I did hold it together but cried to a colleague afterwards in the corridor, which left me mortified. Most, if not all, of us have been there in one way, shape or form.

It gets far easier as the weeks go on and I found my hormones levelling (or moods getting more level, at least!) after about 10 weeks. Just hug your DH, buy treats, take lots of deep breaths when you almost lose it and wait it out Smile

I'm sure people know it's out of character for you. The real ones to worry about in offices are those who regulatory lose it with no excuse whatsoever Wink I've known enough of them!

Thank you LoveLetters and Queazy :-) I said to the colleague that I'm finding this stressful as I'm getting married in a couple of weeks, she was lovely, she was lovely but still felt awful as you do. She did say it was out of character and bless her she was more concerned than anything.

Thank you for your reassuring words, it's nice to know things will smooth out, I thought for a minute I would be like this for nine months! lol

NoMontagues, I will definitely take your advice and take myself out of any situations where I feel I'm struggling and if I feel tears coming on.

Thank you again x

I second the food thing. Before I fell pregnant I got hangry. Even worse now I am nearly 9weeks.

Julie I know how you feel - I haven't told work yet and I have been so short tempered - my colleagues must be thinking I'm a right cow. I cried the other day too after a client was rude to me Sad

Poor you. The mood swings are grim at first but they do get better!
