18 weeks and still eating for England. It was bothering me at first, but then I thought it your hungry then eat.. It's you're body telling you it needs something. Prob is mine keeps telling me it wants carbs, bread, potatoe etc.. I try to eat healthy too but the carbs help keep my sickness under control and settle my tummy. Oh well, I will just have to shift the weight once baby is born!

Every night I see dreams of food... Me at the buffet (all you can eat one) with endless delicacies, me at my parents house with the table full of my fav dishes, me in the bakery which is left unattended.. Lol. I have GD so you can tell just how much I suffer Sad

I ate and ate like nothing on earth when I was pregnant. I gained a stone and half which I'd lost by the time DD was two weeks old. So it might not be as bad as you think!

Essss, it's really hard, but it will be worth it! Envy

If you're hungry, you should probably eat! Your body will pretty much take over during pregnancy, and it knows what it needs. Try to keep more to the healthier stuff, fruit, veg, wholegrains etc, but I know all too well that sometimes you just need cake or chocolate! I try and keep my snacking balanced, if I've had chocolate or cake and I want to eat something else, I'll have a piece of fruit or some yoghurt.

I was like this up until around 16 weeks. Ate like I would never be full again. Gained a stone and a half. Then suddenly found that I couldn't fit a meal in. And haven't gained anything since then.

See, i thought I ate healthily in my last pregnancy and exercised a lot! I still put on 2 stone and it took a year to lose it so I'm certainly not going to let myself go hungry, my body is going to do what it's going to do. It's just annoying to constantly be hungry!

You need 3-500 extra cals during pregnancy so don't feel bad! I'm the same at 18 weeks. My stomach is like a bottomless pit during the day.

I thought you only needed 200 extra calories and that's only in the 3rd trimester?? My body is telling me I need a lot more!!

NHS advice is 300 extra in the third trimester. However, I am physically unable to fit in 300 extra calories now I'm this big. I am managing slightly fewer calories than pre pregnancy, and believe me, I'm trying to eat. I really really wouldn't worry about it if you're starving in the first trimester, let yourself eat. If I hadn't, I wouldn't be able to keep weight on now, and I reckon my body knew what it was doing.

NHS advice is 300 extra calories in the last trimester, but advice in the USA is 300 cals a day extra in first and second trimesters, then 500 cals a day extra in the third.

I'm just eating healthy (ish!) food when I'm hungry. Have put on a lot of weight, but I'm not panicking too much. After my DS, I ended up a stone lighter than I was pre-pregnancy, and I have no reason to think I won't manage the same this time.

I'm eating ridiculous amounts! Suffer terribly from nausea and the only thing that stops it is to eat. But not fruit or veg - oh no, that doesn't cut it - sandwiches, crisps, toast, biscuits - any stodge!!
In the first trimester I was eating huge amounts of egg mayo sandwiches with white bread.
I've now switched to granary bread and ham salad - and half the amount.
Today so far (awake since 6am) I have eaten a small bowl of rice krispies, banana, handful of raspberries and an activia yoghurt. Desperate for my lunch but holding out as long as poss (until the nausea kicks in!) My eating habits have changed slightly for the better but I am still eating lots!
