Ahem. Groin pain.

I am 38+4. Saw midwife yesterday and Jr is 1/5 palpable (ie. 4/5ths engaged) so we're nearing 'action stations' hopefully!

Anyway, since then, I've had a dull ache in my lower back and my 'groin' area. By 'groin' I mean the front where my thighs meet my body, where your knicker elastic sits in the crease on either side, iyswim?

I've not experienced any heaviness in my lower abdomen like the midwife mentioned, considering how far engaged he is.

Has anyone else had any odd symptoms/aches this close to their due date? It is only a very mild, dull ache so nothing like contractions. It just feels....weird!

I'm having it at the moment, I'm 35 weeks but he's engaged. I'm curious what it is too. It's very uncomfortable, like mild period pain

I have this ATM but I'm only 26 weeks...worrying that it means he's engaged! It can't be!

Hmm. This isn't an internal pain, more like a dull muscle ache, like a few days after you've done a long run. Feels like I've pulled something! And it's definitely my groin, rather than my lower abdomen. The whole general area around my foof feels a bit tender...

Mine is both, and also around my back. Just general pain to be honest. Like tired legs with period pain with aches :(

I have this also. I'm 32 weeks and I have a dull ache in my lower stomach and also in my lady bits! The ache in my ladies bits has been there for a couple of weeks.

Last week at midwife appointment she said head was 1/5 engaged so guess it's all just pressure?

Sounds just like I had when I was pregnant with DD. I thought I'd pulled a muscle but it never eased up and I ended up diagnosed with pelvic girdle pain. You've only a few weeks (if that!) to go though so I wouldn't worry too much. The best thing to try and do is minimise how much you stretch open your legs - getting in/out of bed, turning in bed, getting off sofa, getting in/out a car. Try and keep your knees together when doing things like this and it should help. You can put a poly bag on your car seat to help you swivel round. Satin nighties are good if you're sore turning round in bed. It also helps when up you are doing these kind of movements to pull in your core abdominal muscles. Just take a deep breath in and when you exhale squeeze your tummy muscles and stand up/down etc on the out breath holding in your tummy. Also when you're getting up off things try and put more weight on the side that's hurting more so if it's you're left side then put your left foot a bit further forward than your right and bear down more on your right when you get up.

38+4 and 4/5 engaged - definitely on the home stretch now! Exciting!!
