telling work

How do I go about telling work about my pregnancy and how I can put it into an email as my two big bosses work in the head office up in manchester and I never see them. And who do I tell first? The director (the one who employed me) the business manager (who sorts out the contracts and wages) or my shop manager?

So hard to do

Is there a hr department who can give advise? Xx

Not as such no. It's a independent pharmacy and I think the one who sorts out the wages is classed as the hr team but I'm not 100% sure.

I work in a large supermarket chain and I told my lone manager who passed it upwards. I would say your shop manager if that is your day to day boss and who would likely be doing risk assessments etc

Yep line manager.... is there an employee handbook or anything that says what you should do? Most employers have one.

Should have said, the employee handbook should also outline their maternity policy as well.

The hand book says they off a good maternity leave and help towards the colleague but that's all really

Ok, so I guess you tell your line manager.

I'll tell him when I'm back at work then. He needs to know really cause he's trying to make me do all the heavy work, he keeps getting me so stressed and I'm using holiday when I don't need to for my appointments
