She will most likely offer to do one. You can decline if you don't want one too.

Flowers being heavily pregnant in this heatwave must be very tough.

I hope she does offer me one , she didn't say she would last week though but I'll mention it. Shouldn't complain because I'm very lucky to be pregnant but yes I'm definitely ready for this baby to come :-)

Might not offer till 41 weeks and depends if cervix is in right position. Not too much longer, the end is tough going!

Oh good I'm not good at knowing this .. But how will she know if my cervix is in the right position ? Blush

My midwife offered me one on my due date. You can always ask as well. When she attempts the sweep she will be able to tell you if your cervix is favourable, soft and or in the right position, also whether are already slightly dilated.

I had one done on my due date, and she was able to stretch my cervix to 3cm dilated, my DD arrived four days later.

yes my midwife did mine at 40+4. she said I was already 3cm and she stretched me to 4cm. I went into labour 2 hours later.

Hi cloe,

Have you tried drinking lots of raspberry leaf tea, eating pineapple, bouncing on ball, long walk, hot curry?

I know it's sounds silly, but when I was two days over due I followed the above that had worked for my friend (although she had sex too.. I couldn't face that lol) and boom baby next day!!

Worth a go!! Smile

I've had raspberry leaf tablets 2-3 a day I've got the tea too but I'm not keen , I've had pineapple and pineapple juice , yesterday I did a 2.4 mile walk and had sex in the morning . Can't stop crying so fed up, this baby just doesn't want to come and after having a crap pregnancy from 4weeks I've really had enough of it all

nipple tweaking is meant to start it off. Can't hurt to try. A curry and sitting near the speakers of a drum and bass dj started mine off. Feel for you, hope things start happening soon.

Try evening primrose capsules, you have to insert 1 or 2 (inside) ???? at night is better so they can work properly. It softens the cervix apparently. I swear that and nipper tweaking helped with mine. But at the same time baby won't come until good and ready ???? hope it's not too much longer xx

I've got a MW appointment tomorrow (40+5) and have been having strong BH on and off for over a week now. I am being offered a sweep tomorrow but am declining as my GP told me there is zero medical proof that they work (and that people who go into labour after having one would have done anyway). To be fair though, I have taken GPs word and haven't done any research myself!

Cloe, I just read that as you wee'd in your front garden when you got back from your walk, I was thinking I've never heard of that as a method of bringing on labour! Good luck!

Still no baby. Have my sweep tomorrow at 40+7, I'm dreading it not the procedure but the disappointment at it not working, I really don't want to be induced x
