Am I just being optimistic ?

Hi everyone looking for advice -

My lmp was 9th may but I have a 33 day cycle so my ovulation doesn't fall on the 14 day rule.

I had a positive opk on 26th may and only inter course of the month on the same day.

I got a positive pregnancy test in the 9th June very faint and then darker the next confirmed with a clear blue digital. During that week I had some bleeding so I contacted the EPU who booked me in for a scan on Monday when they say I was 6+2 thought I said I couldn't be this due to my long cycle.

Anyway after an internal scan only a sac was detected no yolk sac was seen and it measured about 5weeks which would work into my dates.

They took my blood at 3.30pm ish on Monday the result came back as 782 hcg they asked me to go back this morning at 9am not even a full 48 hrs later and this time it was 792 the midwife told me the pregnancy was not viable but I have to return for repeat bloods on Friday at 9am I have another scan booked for Monday also which I'm not sure they will still give me. I've had mild cramping since I found out and the very light bleeding is still happening.

What do you guys think ? Am I just being optimistic that it still might be ok ?

Hi, I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this.

Sounds very similar to what happened to me and when they took my second sample of blood it wasn't bang on 48h but should have shown a significant increase. Sadly to only go up by such a low number doesn't look good. I also experienced cramping and light bleeding which ended in a mc.

You are left in such limbo waiting and it's such a horrible time. All I can say is that until this happened to me I didn't realise how common it was after the nurse explained. However, after a couple of months later I fell pregnant again and everything was fine and I'm now pregnant again.

Sending you a virtual hug Flowers

I know it's an awful thing you are going through.

I know it doesn't feel like it now and the last thing you want to hear.... But unfortunately it is extremely common. I have since found out at least 4 of my closet friends have been through the same... But everyone has gone on to fall pregnant almost straight away after and everything was fine xx

So sorry this is happening. It doesn't look great with the HCG levels but I guess you never know.

I had two early miscarriages so I know how awful it is (one at 8 weeks then one at 5) but I then went on to have two very straightforward pregnancies and two very healthy little girls. I know that if things don't work out you will need time to grieve for this baby first but I always found it comforting to know that other people had gone on to have successful pregnancies.

Xx
