11 weeks pg and have terrible diarrhea

Look I know it's disgusting but I figure this is the last step before admitting myself into the hospital. I need to know if anyone else has had this issue. For the past 6 days I cannot eat or drink anything without it going straight through me. I am 11 weeks pg and I am starting to get worried. I am accompanied with cramps and it honestly feels like I've taken a bunch of laxatives. Am I okay? Is the baby okay? Has anyone else experienced this?

I had bad diarrhea up until about 20 weeks and having it now at 38 weeks but I think mine at this stage is body prepping for labour. I never thought id have to go to hospital though I just made sure I drunk plenty so it sounds like yours could be a lot worse than mine but I remember reading everywhere your supposed to be constipated but I never ever was. Always the complete opposite. I'd maybe ring midwfie and mention it. They might want you to see a gp first?

Good luck

I had the same thing. I went to the doctors and they said nothing they could do they signed me off for 2 weeks because I felt so horribly drained all the time. It's rubbish isn't it. Everyone talks about constantly being sick but no one talks about the other side! I really feel for you and I hope it gets better. Mine did ease up in to the second trimester.

if you can't have fluids then you need to go to the doctors, as you don't want to get dehydrated. I had a stomach bug at 19 weeks and drank flat coke as recommended and dry biscuits. Then small sips of water.

I had nasty diarrhea when I was 20wks. I went to my OOHs as I was showing signs of dehydration. They sent me to maternity triage and from there I was admitted for three nights on a drip to rehydrate me. Please see a HCP.

I agree with the poster above.

It doesn't matter which end it is coming out of, if it's coming out excessively and you cannot keep any fluids down then you are at major risk of dehydration.

It takes me less than 3 days of not being able to keep down fluids and I am admitted to hospital for a few days on a drip. You say this has been the case for 6 days now? You really need to be seen. It would be useless going to your GP as the most they could do is tell you if you're dehydrated. I personally would (and have) go to A&E. In my experience they take dehydration very seriously and you're likely to be seen and treated quite quickly, and rightly so too.

I hope you're feeling better soon.
