Hi ladies,

I am 38 weeks tomorrow and have been having on and off cramping for a few days now but nothing painful as such just there like mild period pains.

The last 2 nights I have managed about 3 hours sleep and I have been up since 3:30 this morning again with the pains although they have died off now but I have had to go to the loo 3 times to empty my bowels. 3 times in 4 hours!!

I'm also increasingly wet down there. Not enough to wear a pad or anything but I can feel it but don't think it's waters as it's not leaking when I stand or anything.

Any of you start labour in a similar way?

Thanks

If its not, I can promise you it will happen soon. I always try to assume baby isn't due till 41wks. Easier on the mind. Good luck? Hope this is it.

Hate to tell you but this happened to me both times around the 38-39 weeks mark.
The bad news is my first was born at 40+4 and second was 39+ 6 but all the cramping and pains and stuff definitely did something as I wasn't very overdue and had very short active labours with them.

I'm sure I read somewhere the first time I was pregnant that emptying your bowels is a way of the body preparing for labour....

Yep. Sounds just like it to me. Rest up while you can. Good luck!

My labour started with bowel evacuation around 9/10pm (not helpful as we were out for one last posh dinner at 37 weeks!), getting home, throwing up posh dinner, mild cramps, quick lie down and then into the hospital at 1am. DD was out by 4.20am by EMCS for various reasons!

Good luck and I hope it happens quickly for you!

Just on a mega walk with oh to see if we can get things moving but cramps have gone but I still think I may be leaking but I really don't know. I've put a pad on just incase. Will I just know when my waters have gone?
