Something that smells like cigarettes

Have posted before about my cigarette cravings after 9 yrs as non smoker.
I got a zero nicotine vape thingy and was using that but felt guilty after a week of not really knowing the side effects (even though it says there's nothing harmful in it) so stopped that.

Now I'm just craving the smell (and the ash actually). I keep thinking about it several times a day.

Any ideas of things that smell remotely cigaretty to keep urges at bay?

Could you go the opposite way and smell something fresh smell in instead to blank out the urge?
And have you had your iron levels checked?

I am not a smoker but like the smell of cigarette smoke. Other things I love the smell of are : new books, fresh coffee, rosemary, fresh mint.

I also like the smell of petrol and new bikes but they're neither healthy nor cheap!

You could borrow an ashtray and smell it? Not being facetious btw.
Is gp unable to get your iron levels up?

Sue I love petrol too and fresh tar and shoe polish. Hmmmm these all seem to be similar in their smells.

TheCow last time it took being on a 9 hour ferritin (?) drip and this time too I expect

I was just wondering whether you could assault yourself with different smells!

So for me I'd go to Clarks to sniff patent shoes, then have a good smell of books in the bookshop, then coffee at the garden centre before heading round the herb section rubbing my fingers on all the leaves Grin

Another idea is a vaporiser that you can put essential oils in at home and circulate lovely smelling steam a bit like in a spa (so not like those plug in things). This sort of thing:

Or you could just walk past lots of pub gardens at a safe distance!

Ooh I'd forgotten about fresh tar. Do yes ideally walk to a pub garden via some road works.

Admittedly it doesn't sound like the number one recommended walking route for a pregnant woman!

I always detect the tiniest hint of cigarette smell in Head and Shoulders shampoo. I'm not really sure what's in it that could possibly smell that way, but your pregnant nose may be able to smell it too?

Would love those essential oils Sue! In desperation I was googling cigarette smelling perfume but didn't get very far considering most people don't want to smell like ciggies

weirdly - I have never been a smoker and have always hated it (my grandma lost a toe to gangrene from smoking when I was a child; I think helping an old lady pull a shoe onto a 4-toed foot would put anyone off!!).

but since getting pregnant, I actually like the smell of cigarette smoke. it's most peculiar, as I've always loathed it before! so I can't come up with anything sensible OP but I do sympathise...... I think the idea of other nice smells is probably the best one. fresh oranges; fresh strawberries; newly washed bedding; jo Malone lime, basil and mandarin cologne...
