I'm on maternity leave, so while it's work-related, it's an optional networking meeting. The key thing is I'd get to chat with the person covering my role while on maternity leave. I've arranged for my dad to drive me there and back, just in case, and there's a big obstetric hospital in the city (although I desperately want a MLU birth locally).
I'm hesitant though because I keep getting diarrhoea - have done for weeks - and most recently, on Tuesday, it was intense; if I hadn't been at home within running distance of a loo, I would have had an accident. This seems to happen every few days. My tendency to get the runs is starting to dictate life in these last few weeks, and I'm defaulting to staying at/near home, just in case. Plus I had unsettling pains at the top of my bump during last night, and my feet are so swollen, I'd have to wear bloody wellies to the meeting! And I am feeling a bit run down with persistent thrush. AND we'd be driving back in rush-hour - it took me 90 minutes last time.
Can you tell that, instinctively, I want to stay at home?! But I would really like to show willing and chat to my maternity cover. He was head-hunted by my work, having told me himself that he wasn't interested in anything short-term ... so I'm feeling a bit vulnerable on that front I suppose, wondering what work have offered him, and want to seem committed to my job to the last.

At 38 weeks and feeling dodgy, do I go to networking meeting this afternoon an hour away?
