New baby tiny room

So I still live with my mum and I share a room with my sister in bunk beds but our room is 7x9 so it's not very big but the other bedroom which is bigger has 3 siblings in it already and the only other bedroom is down on the bottom floor and is a home office.

I have seen the cot I want and it has a cot top changer too which will be good for space and our bunk bed has stairs with storage in them. But I'm worried it's not enough room still. We don't have anything but our bunk bed and 8 shelves in our room, our wardrobes and drawers are split between my siblings and mums room.
I'm just worried about where I'll put nappies and changes of clothes for night changes?
I'm on the housing list but I am not very hopeful as its already very busy and I was told it could be a year to 18 months before I got something.

you could get some plastic underbed boxes for under the cot to keep some of babys essentials in.
but have you been to citizens advice to see where you stand as it sounds like your mums house is very over-crowded. i dont mean that in a nasty way just that well i think you may qualify for temporary housing or something

I lived with overcrowding at my mums house. I refused to go into a hostel though so had to wait until ds was a year old before I got my house. The box room was too small for me and baby so had to put obe brother in there and I had to sgare with my youngest brother and ds. I bought a travel cot so it could easily be folded away during the day so my brother could still play in his bedroom (he was 6) as for clothes underbrd storage is a must! And I used to take up a coupke of nappies, a pack of wipes and nappy bags and pop them on the floor next to the bed then take them down in the morning.

I'm lucky that my sisters 11 and doesn't play in her room much anymore lives her life on her iPad!! Even with the cot there is a bit of room down the end of the bed. I'm thinking maybe I could get a cabinet from ikea or something, we used to have this thing that had boxes in it but we filled it with crap so got rid

Could be worth looking into. We used to call our lives organosed chaos....it was chaotic but we manages it and got along just fine (unless ds had a particularly bad night and kept everyone awake) but it all worked out in the end. Im now on number three and having to rearrange everything in my room again as I have a habit of keeping stuff that I dont need! Then once baby is here I will have to redecorate the rooms and organise where my hoard of kids will sleep! ( I have ds 6, and dd 1, and bump ) so my life is very cramped and chaotic but you make it work when you have kids

im on my third. the big bedroom belongs to dd and the small is ds's room but this baby is a boy so the boys will need the big bedroom but we are just keeping little one in with us for a while so are concentrating our efforts on the rest of the house before baby arrives. me and oh have a king size bed with large underbed drawers we use 2 of them and plan to use the 2 smaller ones at the bottom for the babys sheets and blankets and towels and get underbed boxes for under the cot for all of his clothes

How far along are you? Current advice is that your baby should have all their sleep in the same room as you for the first six months so the baby won't really need a cot until then. You could get a moses basket for your room, or sofa bed + moses basket in the living room? That would free up the downstairs room for storage. Hopefully they should have got something sorted for you by the time the baby needs their own room. Clear plastic stacking boxes really are useful and can fit way more stuff in than chests of drawers.
