I feel absolutely awful. Is it normal to get nausea and sickness back after having hypermisis? I don't want it back. Its making me miserable at the thought. Should I ring the midwife or am i just being a worry.

Hi, I had HG from 9-22 weeks. It was hell, I only threw up a handful of times but the relentless, stomach churning, nonstop nausea absolutely broke me.

It disappeared very quickly and I was devastated when at 28 weeks I woke up feeling sick. Thankfully it was nothing compared to what I had earlier and disappear end within a week. It came back again at 32 weeks but again went as quick as it started. MW told me it's just baby going through growth spurts and the linked hormone surges.

If you think it's going back to how it was definitely contact mw or gp and see about getting signed off and or meds.

I had a similar experience with my first pregnancy to onthematleave. Was horrendous until 22/23 weeks, then had a hiatus, then it came back for brief periods on and off right up until 40 weeks but nowhere near as badly, thank goodness. Definitely speak to your GP/MW if you think it's getting bad.

I have had morning sickness in this pregnancy, but not HG to give you hope for the future! (Was considering not having any more DC)

I had this around the same time too but couldn't find anyone who'd experienced it at the time. Mine lasted about 3 weeks. Grim. It will pass though.

I had no actually vomiting until 27-37 weeks was horrible, so ! I need just came very late in pregnancy thought I'd escaped. But thank goodness I'm now fine. Everyone is so different. I don't think midwife really believed me though.

I read on t'internet that it's caused by a surge of hormones at beginning of third trimester.
