Probably nothing pain

Hiya, I'm 18 weeks and have developed a stitch-like pain in the upper right hand side of my abdomen - just below my ribs/diaphragm. I felt it come on last night when I turned over rather sharply on a friend's quite uncomfortable sofa bed and it's been coming and going since then. It's not bad, just persistent and niggling and I've just had news that a friend of a friend who had the same due date as me has lost her baby over Christmas so the paranoia is in overdrive - any thoughts? I'm guessing it's just my innards getting squashed up underneath my ribs...

A foot or hand in your ribs maybe that's quite painful, drink something really cold and lay on your side, baby won't like it so will move. Hope is nothing

Aw bless you! An old work colleague lost her baby a few days ago too and she was a few wees ahead of me (I'm 19 weeks) so it can be very scary.

You probably just trapped a muscle or something when you moved last night! Aches and pains are the one side effect of pregnancy I didn't expect as everywhere 'pain' is like a trigger warning and I immediately think it's a bad sign. But since getting pregnant it has made me realise how common pains are, because we are stretching our body and homing another human being!!

If it really worries you, then yes, give the mw a call! But I'm sure all is fine :)

Sounds like round ligament pain ... If it eases when you are resting then it's most likely ... rather than sit and stress though make an appointment for a heart beat check with gp tomorrow just to settle your nerves :)
