Hi ladies

I am 37 weeks pregnant and finding it difficult to get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. I'm still working - today is my last day but really struggling as have a 70 mile round trip to add on to my day. It's not as if I'm not tired a
Because I am and could quite happily sleep at work and when I get home, but when I go to bed I go straight to sleep but then wake and that's it! I'm also getting a blocked nose at night so trying to prop myself up. I guess after tonight it won't matter as I'll be home during the day to catch up in sleep just feeling frustrated now!!!! Lol

Oh bless you Hun, how do you manage all that travelling!!? I can just about manage shops or school run without feeling I could drop at 33wks. (5th baby!)
Get plenty of rest in your time off, are you looking forward to it?
You have my sympathies. I'm usually asleep by now when not preggy but I'm now suffering pregnancy insomnia. And painful hips. Sad

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and wide awake. Fell asleep at 11.30pm and awoke and hour ago. Just can't seem to get comfortable! I'm too hot! I keep needing to wee! Also, baby is having a right old boogie in my belly. Hmm

You have my sympathies.

It's practise for when the baby comes! It's miserable isn't it, especially when you have to work. However, if you're off soon, try to nap in the day. I found it easier to sleep in the day on the sofa than in bed at night. Also a big long pillow between my legs helped as I had such aching hips. Hope you get some kip OP!

Thank you ladies! I'm just going to go in to work this morning and do my handover and then come home! I am so looking forward to maternity leave bump arriving, at least then I will have a 'real' excuse for not being able to sleep! I probably don't even now what the the word tired means yet! Lol work have been brilliant (I work for nhs) so I can't complain, and to think I originally planned to work until I was 38 weeks! Eek

Yes the weeing gets crazy doesn't it. I'm usually the cold one but been feeling hot too and partner wants heating on! I'm def going to try sleeping during the day, after today. One thing I've got away with is the achy hips, does a hot water bottle help at all?

Tank you all for listening to my moans, nice to know other mummies to be are going through similar - and that it hasn't put you off more babies Jodie - 5, you must be knackered!

Happy new year everyone x

I feel your pain. I'm 35 weeks and said to DH I hate going to bed now coz it's just a series of catnaps between pees! These days I'm so wrecked I fall asleep by 9/10 and never go more than 1.5 hours without needing the loo until about 3am when I can't get back to sleep for an hour and wake again at 5-5.30 for the loo! Then my two kids wake at around 6.15-6.30 and we're up for the day!

I have no energy these days and am so snappy with my poor kids. Am self emoted and praying work is quiet for next few weeks coz I haven't done a single thing yet to prepare for this baby. DS is in school & DD is with a childminder when I work and then in Creche 2 mornings a week & I really need those two mornings to get organised but I know I'll be tempted to go back to bed!

Gosh you sound like u have ur hands full! Do you have anyone that can help you out? How much longer are you working for? If you feel like going bk to bed and get the chance to then I would do it!

Work have been fab with me today and sent me home late morning after I'd done my handover as I looked tired and they have even checked I got home ok! Feels strange now knowing I'm playing the waiting game!!

And people kept telling me I was mad working to 37 weeks, how did u cope working until 2 days before due date!

Gaviscon is my new best friend! Does that help? Is there anyone that can have ur son during the week or weekends that u can take the opportunity to get some sleep? Wishing you all the best.

Glad you've finished work now OP!

Someone posted on here that after terrible insomnia in wk36-38 or so, at 39 weeks they could suddenly sleep again - I'm glad to report that's been true for me (40+6 now and although I've been getting up to pee, have been going straight back to sleep again, since 39+0).

I was getting horrible dead legs last night :/ I'm hoping it was just because I had a very lazy day and not because this is something I am going to get every night!!

I've had the brilliantly irrational thought that once the baby is here, I won't need to get up every 2 hours for a wee.

A combination of ranatidine and gaviscon is helping quite a bit, but I can't breathe through my nose so wake up with a dry mouth every 1.5 hours or so. If I'm lucky the dry mouth, reflux and needing a wee coincide.

Roll on 39 weeks then! Dead legs is not something I've head but have heard it can be common, hoping it was only a one off for you :-).

Nope you won't be waking to pee, just to feed the little bundle!!! I find if I walk around of prop myself up on pillows the snuffy nose sometimes relieves itself - may be worth a try

I also had to wake DH up one night as I had cramp in my leg that I couldn't fix myself. My scream scared the life out of him as we still have a few weeks left to go.
