I'm 35+2 and every day without fail my little girl moves loads, today I've noticed the movements have been a lot less, they haven't stopped but are not following their usual pattern. I drank some dp and had some choice about 5 and she's only moved twice up til now, so now I'm eating noodles to try and get her to move. I'm a bit worried considering ringing l&d, just I've got 3 kids at home so if I need to be checked it's really hard. Any advice?

Rather than sit and stress make that call ... you worrying can have an effect too so better to be safe than sorry ...

Ice cold water and a choc bar then lay on left side for half hour ... If still nothing make that call!!

Agree with above, have a glass of ice cold, and I mean cold water or juice and something high in sugar ie orange juice, chocolate, energy drink etc and lie on left side for an hour. If that doesn't get her going phone up triage.

It will more than likely be that she is lazy and running out of room but it's worth checking, you'll just stress more and end up goin in in the middle of the night which will be even more of a pain!

Yes do ring them. Any change should be checked.

Babies don't run out of room, please go and get checked out - any change in movements should be thoroughly checked out.

Yes, get checked out. Please. I have too many first hand tragic stories of why you must. I'm sorry for potentially scaring you but if it gives you the kick up the bum to go and get checked rather than thinking "it's probably just nothing, I don't want to waste anyone's time" then my work here is done.

That's what I thought, the movements shouldn't be less, just feel different. Normally I feel her shifting around lots at different times of the day, it hasn't stopped completely but it's decreased and doesn't follow her usual pattern. Also last week her heart rate was high and took a while to settle at the hospital. Thanks guys x

I'd echo what others have said about ringing the unit. I've rang twice in the past 6 weeks as this little bugger decided to have sleepy days. Both times they hooked me up to the CTG and I was told repeatedly that I had done the right thing and not to hesitate to ring them again, the midwives and doctors were lovely.

I'm 34 weeks so slightly behind you but have noticed over the past few weeks he has 3-4 absolutely crazy days when he doesn't stop followed by 1-2 quiet days (but does still roll about). Consultant said if that's his pattern she isn't concerned with the odd quiet day, if it helps. But of course, no movement at all and I would be ringing the MAU again. Smile
