Ohh me too Hun. Like a lightening bolt shooting through. I think it could be babies head engaging? This is my 5th baby and I've never experienced it this early on, I'm 31+3 won't be seeing MW till 34wks so I won't know if he's engaged yet. I've been experiencing it since yesterday, not nice at all!

I had this with dc2

It became a bit of a joke (despite the pain!) in our house, everytime I winced I would announce 'it's ok it's only lightening fanny' Grin

I've been getting this occasionally for weeks, usually when walking- really hard jabs to the bladder/cervix. I assumed it was just the baby's angle or he was punching.

It's pretty normal, they brace themselves against the top of the womb and headbutt downwards. It hurts like a knitting needle up your whatsit but it's harmless and probably helps with dilation (towards the end) It's not fun though, takes your breath away!

Don't worry about it (unless obviously it changes, gets worse, you start bleeding or anything)

I'm 33 weeks and getting this too. To me it feels like baby has grown fingernails and is jabbing me with them - it's very sharp and stops me in my tracks. The joys...

Yes I got this when I was 32 weeks- I'm now approaching 34 weeks and have a scan on Friday. I wondered if it was because I had a low lying placenta and it was shifting as baby was growing and moving...I will ask midwife on Friday but good to know I'm not the only one!!
I also wondered (this is my first pregnancy so I have a lot of queries) if it could be braxton hicks- what does that feel like? X

I have this too, Im 21 weeks.
I have been having this from time to time. Knitting needle exactly describes it.

I had 2 scans, at 17 and 20 weeks which both confirmed cervix is good lenght and closed. So I guess is just normal.

CullerCoats88. Braxton Hicks is when your tummy goes really tight and hard with quite a bit of pressure on the inside, to me it feels like I'm being squeezed from the insides. Quite uncomfortable.
