Hiya,

Hope someone can shed some light, I had a urine sample done on Thursday as I was being really sick and felt dehydrated. My dr tested and said something abou ketones, protein and infection and that he was sending it to the hospital for checks. I've rang for my results today and they've asked me to do another because of borderline MSU - does anyone know what this means??? I thought it stood for mid stream urine?xx thanks

Hiya, it does mean mid stream urine you are correct, but the borderline bit probably means the results weren't conclusive, or only just over the norm. They wouldn't want to act unless they were sure you needed intervention, so if they ask for another test and it's much worse, you'll get treatment, on the other hand it might be miraculously within normal range, in which case bingo! No intervention required, or if it's still border line they will have to make a clinical decision if intervention out weights any risks, they may just sit on you and ask for another sample in a set mount of time.
