Hello ladies,
I'm fairly new to this site and just wondered if I could get some helpful tips/ ideas.

I've been feeling really nauseous on/off past few weeks but haven't actually been sick i literally have no energy and all I want to do is lay in bed. Which is making me miserable and just bursting into tears. I know I should be happy/excited but I just think it's all my hormones taking over. I'm hoping this feeling will ease off in a few weeks when I get to the 12 week stage (fingers crossed) Also Struggling to find things I want to eat without coming over really sicky and then gagging which is quite frustrating. Even opening the fridge, seeing food adverts on tele and doing the food shop online causing an issue.

Some tips and ideas would be great!

Thank you!

I have no answers but wanted to say you're not alone. I could have written your post.

Im 8+1 and currently in bed feeling very sorry for myself.

I have heard that ice lollies can ease the nausea, I may try that. I also have sea bands which have helped a little.

I hope things start picking up for us soon!

Hi holly I completely sympathise! When I was 6-10 weeks I was absolutely shattered. I couldn't get out of bed and I was exhausted all day! It is very difficult. But I should ease off soon once the placenta starts taking over!!!

I was lucky on the sickness front as I was never sick and only had mild nausea but I found ice lollies helped! I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and my appetite is disgustingly huge ha! So I'm sure you will get an appetite back soon x

I'm 9 weeks today. Weeks 4-7 I was shattered, going to bed hours before I normally would and falling asleep on the bus to and from work.
That's eased up now.
I have felt on and off nausea but not been sick either. I get hungry but don't actually fancy anything in particular to eat.

Thank you ladies.

Ooo haven't heard about the ice lolly thing. I'm up for trying anything! I will be sending my other half out to the supermarket today. Leanne I've heard that your appetite always finds it's way back. Ha ha. I will be waiting for that day!!

Scarymartian and pinkie1982 hope things are on the up soon

X

Eat little and often. Don't worry about healthy eating - if toast and chocolate is what gets you through the day, then go for it. This is such a short period of time and within a few weeks you'll be back to munching broccoli or whatever takes your fancy.

Ginger biscuits and travel sickness wristbands can help with the nausea. Also, are you taking pregnacare vitamins? They can make you sick if you take on an empty stomach.

This was EXACTLY me several weeks ago from about 7-14 weeks. Everyone told me it would get better but I couldn't believe I'd ever feel anything other than like utter death ever again. But it does go - both the nausea and the bone shattering exhaustion. For me, the only thing I could eat was beige carbs (not exactly the nourishing pregnancy diet I'd dreamed of!): plain crisps, plain baked potatoes and crackers with butter or peanut butter. The only healthy thing I could manage was apples which I ate loads of. My appetite came back with a vengeance and has thankfully now settled back to normal (I'm 26 weeks).

Anyway, just wanted to say I sumpathise and you're not alone and it will get better! And congratulations...?!

The only other thing I'd say is, as counterintuitive as it sounds, don't let yourself get too hungry so try to keep nibbling on whatever you can manage. When I went too long without anything to eat, the nausea was the worst! It might help you too?

I am finding ginger biscuits really help with the nausea and the seabands also work, I'm actually sleeping in them! Im keeping ginger biccies by the bed because I was finding I was waking up feeling extremely sick each morning from about 4am onwards. For me its an empty stomach and evening tiredness that bring on the sickness.

Hope you feel better soon xx

I must try these seabands. Where would i get these from? I have been trying to eat little and often but what I'm now finding is what I could manage I have totally gone off now! Annoying!! Anything sweet and tea/coffee is yuck at the minute. Have had rich tea & ginger nuts by the bed past few weeks but don't seem to be doing much. I just need to think of more savoury snacks that are filling and that I can actually stomach. Hmm...

Thank you for all your helpful messages sending hugs back xx

I got my sea bands from boots. You can get them cheaper from amazon though I think. I had mine on my wrists before i'd even left the store I was that desperate!!

I've just brought my lunch back up. I'm so upset as I had to psyche myself up to eat it and now I'll just get hungrier and more sick and will have to start again.
I just want to bury my head under a duvet and not come out until 12 weeks have passed!! Aaaaaargh! In a perverse way it's good to know others are feeling the same (and some a lot worse so I should count myself lucky).
