Loss of appetite, normal?

I am 6 weeks into my first pregnancy and I'm struggling with appetite.

Everywhere I look says I should be starving but honestly I'm only eating my 3 meals a day because I have to and dp is force feeding me fruit.

Is it normal to not have much of an appetite? I don't have any sickness as of yet and my only symptoms so far are some cramping and sore nipples.

Anyone else felt the same in these early days?

I'm trying to show willing and thinking the little one needs to be fed even if I don't! It's just confused me more than anything I thought I wouldn't be able to stop eating!

I'm about 5 weeks and for past week I've not eaten much at all. The weekend I was poorly with a sore throat and ate half a meal fri, sat and sun, can't stomach warm drinks :( really want my appetite back. Doctors said to keep pushing the fluids but I miss my grub.
Keep an eye on diet, and try little snacks often rather than big meals. That's my plan anyway xx

In my first pregnancy I had such a rubbish appetite that I lost a stone and a half in the first 12 weeks. I'm now 8 weeks with my second and stuffing my face in the hope that something will help me feel less sick.

Really? Only an extremely fortunate minority should even feel able to eat normally at this point. It's far more likely that you'll feel too nauseous to eat much at all. I found it difficult to even drink at six weeks.

You don't need to worry though, baby takes what it needs. I was so ill during the first trimester but the baby ended up measuring eight days ahead at the scan. Goodness knows how, on so little nutrition...

You've probably got a precursor to morning sickness. It'll either develop into the full thing or remain the same. Consider yourself lucky- I barfed my way through whole pregnancy. Really delightful at the end as DS was pressing on my bladder, so every time I heaved I wet myself Sad

I've not had any appetite either I'm 27wks now and it still hasn't come back I'm actually 20lb lighter than when I fell pregnant (I'm/was a size 16 beforehand so could afford to lose a few lbs). I've eaten because I know I have to not because I've felt hungry. I think the key is to make sure what you do eat is healthy and nutritional and keep your fluids up. My baby us growing fine and measuring as it should so must be getting everything he needs.

My morning sickness kicked in at 6+4 weeks and I barely ate for 10 days following that. I basically lived off water melon and coca cola as it was all I fancied. It's only been the last few days that my appetite has come back but even then my portion sizes atm are tiny and I'm still struggling with some food esp curry, the smell is killing me!

I haven't had any sickness at all and still have very variable appetite. Can go ages without being hungry - unlike me! However, then I can make up for it another day with never ending hunger!!

I'm 9 weeks and haven't had an appetite for a good couple of weeks now but I have had terrible sickness. My midwife said as long as I'm staying hydrated it shouldn't matter much food wise because we all have our food stores xx

I'm finding that I really struggle to eat an evening meal- I have a few mouthfuls and I'm full, it's really odd. I haven't had morning sickness to speak of (a few nauseous periods but nothing like other people have) but just find that I fill up really quickly. Anyone else have this?
