Head's about to explode. I'm 38 weeks if that makes any difference, usually just OD on sudafed but apparently that's out. Anyone any experience/tips? Will I just have to brave it out? Paracetemol is about as useful as a jelly tot. Jelly tot might be more useful, at least it's tasty....

Long shower? Steam helps! Not sure about eucalyptus/olbas oil though.

At least you're 38 weeks! I had atrocious sinus problems in my last pregnancy. They would literally swell shut every evening and I wouldn't be able to breathe through my nose again until the following morning. This was from about 24 weeks onwards. It drove me insane.

Yes inhaling steam will open up the passages and relieve the pressure. Towel over head, lean over bowl of boiled water and inhale steam through nose for five minutes. Do this several times a day. It takes a couple of days to start being effective but stick with it and I guarantee it will work. I have chronic sinus problems and this is what I use when it gets bad.

Try Sterimar. It's a saline solution.

Thanks all. Had a hot steamy bath with Olbas oil in it last night before bed, followed by a homemade honey & lemon drink and a couple of paracetemol, and it definitely helped take the edge off. Still miss the drugs mind you ;)

I second Sterimar, its natural sea salt water I think so is very natural so should be safe for pregnancy, so just check the bottle. my DH suffers from sinasitus and decongestant can actually make it worse long term, so he was recommeded Sterimar which he swears by.
I think I saw another thread that Olbus oil isn't safe but don't know for sure.
