Good evening all

I wondered if anyone could give me any advice?
I've been to the doctors 3 times now with excruciating pain down the left side of my body, the doctor has told me it sciatica, she has referred me for physio (3 weeks ago) but I still haven't received a letter. The doctor keeps prescribing me co-codamol which makes me sick every time I take it but she said there isn't anything else I can take.

I can't sleep because I can't lie down it's so painful, I'm struggling to walk to the toilet & I'm sat in bed exhausted counting down the hours till I have to get up for work in the morning.

Is there anything I can do at home to relieve this pain? Anything else I can take or any natural remedies?

Sorry for the long post and for moaning I just don't know what to do anymore xxx

I don't know if this will help, but when I had this type of pain in pregnancy I slept with a long pregnancy pillow.

I needed to lie on my side with the pillow between my ankles AND my knees (really important it's both) as this aligned me to stop my hips from hurting.

Thanks for your reply, I went and brought one last week in the hope it would help but hasn't helped at all. I got the Dreamgenii, maybe I should try a different one and see if that helps? It isn't long enough to reach my ankles only my knees so maybe that's why. What did you use? X

I had a snoogle (terrible name Smile ) that's quite expensive new, but you can get on ebay for less e.g. m.ebay.co.uk/itm/181496349016?nav=SEARCH

I'm 5'11 and it was def long enough. It also makes a pretty decent breastfeeding pillow (if that's what you're planning to do).

Could you try the pillow you have between your knees and maybe a cushion between your ankles to see if that makes a difference in the meantime?

Thank you that's brill, they look much bigger and comfier than the Dreamgenii, will get one ordered today it'll be well worth it's money if it works.

Managed to get 3 hours. Dreading work today!

Thanks so much for all of your help. X

I'm exactly the same, may be worth calling up the hospital to chase the referall, my midwife suggested that to me and I managed to get an apt few days later. The pain has been excruciating for me since Sunday, I'm due to go back for more physio tomorrow, but I'll be 37 weeks on thurs so not a lot more else they can do to help now :( the pillow between the legs works occasionally for me if I can get in a comfy position! Hope the pain gets better for you soon OP x

Thanks always, will give them a ring today because I really can't bare it any more, I'm only 19 weeks so the thought of having this up until 40 is awful! I hope your okay and start feeling better after tomorrow's session xx
