Pregnancy

Stuffy nose/sinuses

38 weeks tomorrow and this has just steam-rollered me. Don't think it's viral because it's literally just mucus bunging up my head. I read somewhere that late in pregnancy this can be quite common (though not necessarily a sign of labour). Anybody else had/having this right now? I'm treating it with paracetamol and menthol steam inhalations at the mo.

Not as bad as you but I am 35 + 4 and have woken up for the past 3 days with a hugely stuffed up nose. Takes me about 45 minutes before I can breathe in the morning x

I'm in my first 12 weeks and suffering. Finding Hopi ear candles and putting my face over a bowl of steaming water a couple times a day to help. I've always had bad sinuses and a few years ago I was told by my nurse to chew gum as it keeps your jaw moving which keeps sinuses moving too I find it helps

I've been blocked up since about 7 weeks (now 17). The best thing to help is to get an extra pillow and sleep more upright.
I have read that you can use those nose strips (breath right I think) but haven't tried them.

I had this towards the end of my second pregnancy. It's a real pain and I totally sympathise. I'd also recommend those nose strips. They really helped me sleep at night.

I'm currently blocked up but that's more to do with the cold that my generous DS brought home from nursery...

I have had this, on and off, through 3 pregnancies now. Breathe Right strips really do work, I would also recommend trying them at night.

I get this too. I use this spray from sterimar at the pharmacy. It's salty water you spray up your nose and then you blow your nose. It helps and it's safe in pregnancy

I've got this too, ears are blocked also. I've not taken anything for it though. Hoping it'll magically vanish once baby is born!
