I'm 32, 8 weeks pregnant and wondering if anyone in the Medway/North Kent area would be interested in talking about local hospitals, processes etc.

I'm in Bexley, but work in Medway if that helps. Currently 17weeks dc2.

Hi both, thanks for the replies. I was just wondering what the maternity care is like here? I'm 9 weeks tomorrow with our first and only been in Kent for less than a year so not as familiar with the hospitals as I would like to be. Have either of you heard of Spire Alexandra hospitals? We're thinking of having a private 4D scan with Dr Penman there, he's meant to be quite good from what my midwife told me

We had an early reassurance scan there with Dr Penman - all went smoothly although there's not a great deal they can tell you at that stage.
I've been told by others that he will tell you the sex of the baby from about ten weeks according to the nub theory.

Thanks Cupcake11. Think we're opting for a scan at 13 weeks with Dr Penman, depending on when the nhs 12 week scan comes through although we want to keep our baby's sex a surprise

Hiya. Not got any knowledge on spire hospital I'm afraid. We went for a 3d scan in kings hill as there was a deal on groupon. Think they do it quite a lot. It was good (apart from my girl was awkward and was facing the wrong way)

Ps. We did the 3d scan at 28 weeks but I think they do earlier ones. (I'm now 30+5)

Ah ok I never knew about Kings Hill, will have a look at that too. Never knew so many different types of scans are available throughout pregnancy
