Just as it says really! Does anyone else experience this? It feels really strange and sometimes makes me jump when I'm sat down at work. Not sure if it's a kick, punch or even head butt but it's definite movement lol. I'm currently 23wks and been feeling movement all over but sometimes I get it down below....

I did, but then my babies were breech...

I got this all the time, it was kind of like the feeling you get when you hit your funny bone but DOWN THERE. Very weird, had it with both DDs, neither was breach.

Yep! Cervix kicks were a weird sensation. 33wks now so haven't had them for a week or two, one bonus of it getting more cramped in there!

Sounds like a breech baby to me. DS used to kick me in the cervix. Told me repeatedly that I thought he was breech. She dismissed this. He was footling breech, diagnosed when I was 10 cm dilated, and delivered by emcs.

Bikerunski my MW also insisted dd was head down - was my third breech baby so I knew that she wasn't. Thankfully a student agreed with me and sent me for a scan.
But to get to 10cm with a footling Shock. Glad you were ok.

Won't baby turn though with me only being 23wks ? Head was down at 20wk scan.

I have another scan in 4 weeks so guess I will see for myself then. Is it something to worry about at this stage though?

I had kicks/punches to the cervix with both my pregnancies and my God it was painful!

Both my babies were born head down but back-to-back, not sure if that's relevant or not. They were still punching me in the cervix and bladder (that was even more agonising!) right up until the night before I went into labour each time...

The baby's head won't engage until much later in your pregnancy, don't worry at this stage Smile. S/he still has far too much room to move about!

LongTailedTit · 20/03/2014 19:58

Plenty of room to move around at your stage so no need to worry about breech yet - mine's head down now at 33wks (well, was at last week's scan anyway!). Back to back too, but head down at least.

No need to worry at this stage, still plenty of time to turn Smile. Didn't mean to worry you, sorry.

Mine has his hands over his head quite a lot and I experience this all the time - at the moment his head is really wedged in there and he now headbutts me, very uncomfortable!!!

Now 38 weeks and omg, sometimes I can't walk,it feels like I have a knife in my cervix.

I'm 32 weeks and I get this - punches to the cervix at the same time as massive boots to the bottom of my ribs. I think she thinks it is funny.

I get them, but they are head butts I think (at least, they were with DD1 and 2 and they feel the same this time).

Thanks for so many replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one! It's lots better when I lie down, baby moves to a better position but is still down low. Getting movement in my sides at the moment. I can't tell the difference between a kick, punch or head butt yet at this stage but I guess it'll be clearer as I get further along. There's tons of room everywhere else, don't know why baby doesn't hang out up there lol

Yes Boogles!! If I'm chatting to someone stood up and I get a boot down there, I feel so awkward as if they know what just happened! I also stop concentrating on what they're talking about. I wonder if I pull a face when it happens too lol :)

Yes, I get this - I'm always worried it's going to make me wee myself, it's always so strong Blush

And I'm another one that always had kicks very low down and had an undiagnosed breech. The midwife told me it was probably baby punching me, so i imagined her with her hands above her head punching me. I think that was bollocks.

But yes- loads of time to move yet! I'm 25 weeks and it feels like baby is cartwheeling all over the shop sometimes.
