I had an awful labour with my first Babba, it went on for hours on end, was very stressful and scary. Do 2nd babies fly out in 10 mins with no probs, no stitches, nothing?????????

Mine did!

First: Failed vontouse, forceps with no epidural, distressed baby, episiotomy and second degree tear. Infected stitches thereafter.

Second: 50 minutes. Two pushes. No stitches. Fantastic experience. Still painful obviously but my body just did it all for me. I barely pushed even twice... Just had massive contraction which pushed him to crowning followed by one gentle push from me and he slipped out in one.

All happened last week so still on cloud 9.

Oh Penguins you were on a thread a few weeks ago with me where I said I was anxious about how I'd cope with a second bad birth and you reassured me. You were right.

OP I sincerely hope it is easier for you. I am yet to meet anyone who has a harder time second go.

Aw, I remember Pasta! Congratulations!!

My no was to the full statement by the way - 10 minutes, no probs, no stitching. Obviously some people get that. Some people get that first time. But most people get much easier and more straightforward second time.

My second was much better.

DS took 34 hours to arrive - induction, drip, epidural, waters popped, cut, forceps, blood transfusion.
DD took 3 hours. Pool, pushing for 13 minutes, gas & air.
