Told the boss!

I was so worried last week as I had no morning sickness etc and then in week 7 - BAM!!! Feel constantly sick! So on the one hand, I now feel a bit more reassured, and on the other keeping my secret is virtually impossible!

So as I had a 121 with my boss yesterday, I told him and asked him to let me keep it quiet for another 5 weeks. I was terrified he would be irritated but he leapt up and gave me a hug and was thrilled for me.

Feel so much better.

So I thought i would share just in case anyone else is dreading telling work.

I m jealous.... My boss has been a total arse !!!! His first words were 'oh fu@k'!!!! And from then has ignored me... Sent me all over the place for work. Now I m 30 weeks and feeling slightly uncomfortable I ve told him that I can't keep doin it .... He then near on threatened me that I wouldn't have a job ( not that he can do that..... So worked out I can take my maternity leave early - screw him !!! Xx

Surely you could involve HR? That sounds totally out of order!! I am a people manager too, its hard to plan around maternities, but that doesn't give someone the right to be an arse. Ultimately if you're a good manager, you should be able to do just that - manage!!
At least you won't feel a hint of remorse for dropping them in it! Xxx

Tell HR! That's so out of order - write down the threats he needs to be held accountable.

Op thankfully my boss/hr manager are more like yours! Had to tell early as history of mc so high risk.
