Appointment with anti natal phycologist today to discus section - what to expect?

I am trying to get the hospital to agree to an elective section.

This will be my second section, I had my son by elective section 11 years ago.

My consultant has already agreed to one and has even booked me a provisional date, but she has told me that if the phycologist says no, its a no, which I am really at a loss to understand.

Appointment is this afternoon and I am bricking it. I know the pros and cons of vbac etc, but I want another section.

I just don't know what to expect from this afternoon.

Sorry I have no experience of this but didn't want your post to stay unanswered. Is it normal practice to see a psychologist to assess whether you can have a CS? I have a few friends who have had one and I don't remember anyone needing to see a psychologist.

Is it to do with your reason for wanting a CS? Do they feel you have a psychological problem with birth or something similar? One of my friends had an elective due to a traumatic 1st birth. She did have to put across her case that she felt psychologically damaged 1st time but that was to the consultant.

No not at all!

My reason is that after having a section already and researching both options, I don't want to risk a vbac.

I don't understand why I am seeing them, especially as the consultant has already agreed? I don't understand how this person has the final say.
