Pregnancy

5 weeks pregnant and no symptoms

I'm driving myself crazy - I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I feel great. No sickness, tiredness, no sore boobs. Nothing. Will the symptoms all come? I've had 2 MMC and 2 miscarriages in the past to paranoid to the extreme. Is this lack of symptoms a problem? I'm going to get an early scan at 6 weeks...

I didn't have many symptoms with dd1, give it a few days though, ms didn't kick in till towards the end of wk 5 this time. Some women love pregnancy and get no symptoms. If you have a scan, try and leave it to week 8 unless an internal one as can be hard to see

Apart from feeling tired some days I didn't really have any symptoms until I was about 10 weeks pregnant and that was just feeling nauseous. My actual sickness didn't kick in until about 14 weeks and even then it was very short lived. Congratulations on your pregnancy Smile

And I second what has been said about the scan - I booked in to have an early one with a private company and they told me there is little point until at least 7 weeks as that is usually the earliest they can see the heartbeat. I ended up going when I was 7wks+3 and the flickering heartbeat was obvious so it was very reassuring. They said that going for 'reassurance scans' to early can actually have the opposite effect because if a heartbeat isn't seen it tends to just worry the parents more.

Think yourself lucky! I'm 8 weeks on Friday and actually sick fed up feeling yuk! :) my boobs are killing me and I could sleep 24 hours per day. Enjoy it having no symptoms. Also as for the scan, be careful you don't set yourself up for worry, I had one at 6 weeks and all they could see was a sac. I worried myself sick until the weekend and paid privately to double check. Wait until about 8 weeks as you will get better picture :)
Hope you have a healthy and boring pregnancy xx

Thanks all. I will leave the scan until 7-8 weeks then. Because of my history I've been referred to EPAU, so will see what they say. If this pregnancy actually sticks, I will enjoy having no symptoms, but at least symptoms reassure you that things are going well....

Yes in your situation I can completely understand why you're concerned, good luck op! Rest as much as you can, can't hurt!

It doesn't help that one of my closest friends is exactly the same amount pregnant (to the day!) as me - and she's already feeling sick. It's her first pregnancy... this will make it even more hideous if something awful happens this time :(

Yes, if she's got any tact she won't keep giving you constant updates, fingers crossed, there's no reason to worry unless you see any bleeding and even then it could still be ok. Took us 3 years to have dd, you have my sympathies it was very stressful, we didn't really believe it would happen til we got past 32 wks!

Sorry for your losses. I had lots of early symptoms with my first pregnancy which ended in mmc. Am now pg again and having the exact same symptoms. For me, it's hard that I am having the same full on symptoms so far as obviously don't want this one to end the way the first one did.

I know it's really hard but as you may have experienced symptoms don't necessarily ease your worries. But who knows, you might get some any time soon! I hope you are able to relax abit, I know it's dificult.

There is a thread for people who are pg again after mc, everyone on it is very understanding as they've been there, stop in and say hi if you haven't already it might help.

Jess, that's what I told myself previously. Sadly, with 2 missed miscarriages, one at 12 weeks scan and one at 10 weeks (when I'd had a scan at 8 weeks and all was looking well) even the lack of blood doesn't reassure me!

Many congratulations on your DD :)

I get every symptom going bit not until 7 weeks and my friend has had three healthy babies and problem free pregnancy and quick normal births and she gets no symptoms at all. Try not to worry, everyone is different xxx

I've mc'd before and had no symptoms to speak of early on. Nausea didn't hit until about 9 weeks. A friend at a similar stage has HG, so it was a huge contrast with her, but at my last scan everything was looking ok.

Yes when things don't go smoothly it's very hard to trust the magic will ever happen, good idea to join the other thread too
