Uppa baby vista or a 3 wheel big wheel all terrain?

We are a little bit confused. My dh and I have fallen for the uppababy vista mainly because of the fantastic reviews we've read, its well made and the carry cot looks fab (so we figure we can use it as a moses basket). We also like the big basket and visors to protect baby from the sun. However we live in the countryside and regularly walk the dog through woods, over the farm fields and down lanes so are worried the uppababy won't be suitable (as its not classed as all terrain). What do you think? any good/bad stories?
Alternatively we could go for the city jogger elite or similar to handle the rough terrain but these don't have the big basket, lovely carrycot and seem more geared up for babies/toddlers 1+ years old. Alternatively we could buy the uppababy which we love and buy an all terrain later on off ebay for the farm walks?

I have a baby jogger city mini and its absolutely fine from newborn. I just added a cozy soft lambskin for my baby to lie on and had a little head hugger/cocoon thing when she was really tiny. I'd go with the more practical all terrain personally. Most people I know who bought similar to the vista have gone through multiple buggies and I still use my jogger. In fact just bought the double version for impending baby no.2.

Ps if I lived more rurally i'd have def gone for either the elite version or my friend has a nipper 360 which is also brilliant. She just bought the double version of that in fact.

The vista.

It is wonderful.

If I had a little newborn again, and no toddler needing a seat as well. Then it would be the vista straight away.

I had it for dd5. And also with the rumble seat for when dd5 was bigger and I could put ds in the rumble. Still a fantastic push. The visors are great, the carrycot is really really nice, the basket is massive. I cannot fault it at all.

I have has many prams, but the vista is in my top 5.

We've taken our Vista through the woods and down lanes, it copes just fine . It also copes with the all-terrain outside (our pavements are awful and might get repaired in the next 50 years.) We love it!

We use our Uppababy all the time and ds is now 16 mo. we love to walk and also to walk through the terrain you describe. But if we are going seriously off road we use a back pack carrier.

The carrycot is great and the basket is enormous. Truly enormous.

I have a couple of niggles with it. It is wide and the raincover for the toddler seat is crap. And it's heavy when folded in one piece.

But it's a dream to push, has lockable wheels for tougher terrain and is nice and high up for the baby.

Out pfb is now 21 months old and we are still using the vista and have used on various terrains although we use a carrier if properly off road/footpath.

Absolutely love the uppa baby vista had no problems with it at all.

Thank you for all your comments - its good to know so many of you rate the vista. Its a lot of money compared to some but seems well worth it. I've just taken the dog and realised that there is absolutely no way I'd be pushing any pram around the tracks and fields given how wet and muddy it is. BikeRunSki - my sister has lent me her newborn carrier so I will be using this a lot! Hoping the ground will firm up a bit before baby arrives in 3 months though! Thanks again xx

PS. another question on the vista - a very girly one - which colour did you go for? I like the mica (silver) but its going to get so dirty - maybe a darker colour?
