Pregnancy

First trimester I'm a slob, anyone else?

I was wondering if anyone else is being like me? I'm 8 weeks and 3 days and it's been like torture already Hmm hunger pains followed by debilitating nausea, complete drainage of all energy and off almost all food in the world!

I manage to eat, then feel sick and have to lie down. Give it half an hour to 45 mins and the hunger pains are back! Grrrrr!! I'm not just peckish, I feel like I haven't ate in days!

So at the minute, my life revolves around lying on the couch under a blanket, managing to eat then it's back to the couch or bed to suffer some more. I feel disgusting Hmm it's an effort to shower, I nearly fainted yesterday morning coming out the shower.

Stopped all caffeine when I got bfp but my body is craving cola like its oxygen! So now I feel bad for drinking sugary fizzy juice but I feel like I need it !

Anyone else feeling similar? I just need to moan, pregnancy is pregnancy but I don't remember it being this hard before Hmm

Yep - my vavavoom has vavagone! I haven't had terrible nausea but tiredness and weird appetite (combined with massive hunger, but then 1st bite I'm suddenly 'ugh no more'). Monday-Friday I get up at 6, inject myself (on Clexane as it's a high risk pg) go to work... get home from work, eat something small/plain and zzz by 8.30. Weekends, doing the most basic housework is an utter mission. Body wants to lie in its own sweat drinking schweppes bitter lemon and cidona (my fizzy drink urges!!). Urgh.
I haven't got any DC yet, must be an utter mission with a family!

I read morning sickness peaks around 8 weeks. I'm 7+6 and feeling so rough with nausea, dizziness, tiredness and a nasty cold - and really sorry for myself! DS and I have been stuck at home for 3 days, but I can't even face taking him to play in the garden. The house is a tip too. Hopefully it will ease off soon but not looking forward to work tomorrow.

Katharine that's interesting, I'm at 8 weeks and it's been a bit rougher this week than last. FX it's peaked and gets no worse (except I have heard it can go on and on for some!). My only silver lining is that being a bit of a risky PG, at least I really really feel all those hormones swimming round me which is a slight reassurance.

Yep. My husband has to do pretty much everything. I can't cook - nausea. I can't clear up - looking at leftovers turns my stomach. I have no energy for anything. I spend most of the evening and weekend on the sofa under a grey blanket, looking like a fat slug. Where is the blooming I was promised, eh?

I'm 8 weeks too and feel exactly the same. Also feeling guilty as I'm struggling to play at all with my 3 yr old and just laze about whenever I have the chance. Hope it improves soon.

I was the same in the first trimester, I straight on the sofa as soon as I got home, only moving to get in the bath or go to bed!

Glad it's not just me then! I'm trying to get my ds involved a wee bit, he's fetching me drinks and things, I just can't do normal things with him just now.

DP has been fantastic, he's taken over everything as best as he can and is entertaining DS and ddogs but still puts his foot in it by talking about chocolate Blush and making coffee, I suddenly can't stand the smell of coffee!! In fact, even the word coffee sets off the nausea Hmm I am the pregnant bitch from hell!

Me too, I feel useless and am naping at work in my lunch hour! No energy to even do a bit of washing up! DH is out today and me and DD(3) have been having a lazy day watching films and colouring etc.... Until we decided to get on the sofa, under the duvet at 1.30. Fast forward until 4.30 and we've both just woken up! Whoops! Good job we've an easy dinner tonight of pasta and salad!! I'm 10 weeks and hope it gets better soon!

7+5 Here and I've been feeling awful for the past few weeks. I haven't been getting the hunger pains, just constant constant nausea and vomiting. I often hear people talking about how they have put on weight but I am losing it! Really tired all the time too.

I take my hat off to those of you going through this with toddlers. Thanks

I slept for 12 hours last night, got up at 9, slept 12 until 2pm and then again 4-5pm. When I'm awake I'm screaming, sobbing or a combination of the two. I also want a glow.

I'm 9 weeks today and going through horrid nausea at the moment, and feeling like a fat, tired, lazy slob. My belly is quite big already - apparently 2nd pg this is normal.

I have a 2 year old daughter and just preparing meals for her is testing me to my limits!!

The only thing I can manage is a few dry crunchy nut cornflakes and peppermint tea Sad

Just telling myself it won't last too much longer (I hope!)

So glad it's not just me! I'm 8 weeks. Desperately hungry all the time but there's nothing I fancy to eat, then when I do find something nice I pig out and regret it. I could sleep for England, somehow hold it together during the week for work but the weekends are a write-off! My 3 yo dd is being very understanding though she doesn't know why mum's soooo tired! As someone up thread said, at least it proves that the preg hormones are there but roll on having some energy back.

I am 7+4 and feel exactly the same. I feel nauseous most of the day it eases when I eat which has to be often as it gets worse when I get hungry and I seem to be hungry all the time! I have no energy at all and generally just feel rubbish. However, I had the same when pregnant with DS and it did go at about 14 weeks and I then felt very well for the rest of the pregnancy so I am hoping it will be the same this time.

If it helps I have some sickness travel bands which help, as does sipping on ginger beer but different things work for everyone. Hope you are feeling better soon!

DH did everything for first sixteen weeks or so
I couldn't move. Much better now in second tri but oh still get sick sometimes!

Try flat coke. You can surprisingly have up to five cans or so a day safely. Diet coke was my saviour I used to get a huge one from mcds every day. Also try ice cold drinks.

I'm 7 + 3 and definitely a slob. I am managing (somehow) to drag myself into work where I try to get away with doing light duties all day, (not always successfully), and then go home and collapse on the sofa. I'm literally amazed there isn't an arse-print on the sofa yet from where I've been in the same spot for most of the past month. The nausea comes and goes a bit at the moment. Managing to eat relatively normally though there are some things just the thought of eating makes me feel sick (currently coleslaw). At the beginning my goal was to eat really healthily, now my goal is just to find something to eat which doesn't make me want to throw up. The house is a tip and I can't be bothered to do anything about it. All I want to do is get through each day so I can go to bed. At 9pm. sometimes earlier.

I was the same with trying to eat healthy now I just try to eat anything as nothing is appetizing!

I recommend ice lollys - they are a godsend!

I'm having trouble already with my clothes Shock anyone else? I have a pair of maternity jeans which are comfy but everything normal is extremely uncomfy now, even leggings!

I don't know if anyone else is still on this thread but I'd like to announce that I had a scan this morning and it was fab!!! I have a real baby inside me with a strong heart beat and tiny arms and legs Grin

wow chickenwing!!! That`s amazing. So its all worth it.
I envy you. Also had an early scan but it was sooo early that my baby was just a point. No waiting for the next one in 4 weeks... I am 7 now but cant wait to see the baby. So easy to forgive the little one for causing so much nausea once you have seen it....

After reading back my post from last week I really wish I was just tired/nauseous/hungry now, I've been pretty ill with a chest infection & sinusitis this week & my normal pregnancy tiredness has paled in comparison! I haven't done anything at all since Tuesday, my dd has had way more than her quota of TV this week, but she's been under the weather too so hasn't minded too much.
It's just a little scary when the illness symptoms completely obliterate the pregnancy symptoms & make you wonder if they're even still there Confused

Ps that's exciting chickenwing!
And yes I already have certain jeans I can't wear (especially with sore muscles from coughing) as they just seem to rub on my already getting podgy hips!
