Hi ladies

I have been quite poorly so not gained loads of weight so far and think I may have a tiny bump at nearly 15 weeks??

When did people start to show, I know it varies for everyone xx

I started to show at 10 weeks this time, not first pregnancy but will be (if all keeps going well, fingers crossed) first DC for us. I know it was bump rather than bloat as consultant and GP confirmed that it was bump Smile
I lost a lot of weight throughout the 1st trimester due to HG, and I was pretty slim and toned pre-pregnancy (ahhh, those were the days, never again methinks! Grin) so perhaps this makes a difference? I was having to wear jeggings by eight weeks though, and maternity jeans by 14 weeks, by which point I had a very noticable and unhideable bump Grin

I'm 15 weeks tomorrow with my first and still not showing! I look a little bloated sometimes but then it goes again! I'm still in my normal clothes and they're no tighter yet. I should probably be glad but I can't wait to have a little bump!!

Hmmm it depends what you mean by 'show'. I think people who see me regularly realised my body shape was changing( ie huge boobs) by 12 weeks. By 15 I was struggling to get into prepregnancy clothes, but I don't think the bump really started to show until at least 18 weeks. Now 22 weeks, first pregnancy, with definite bump.

Depends on your body weight/shape, strength of tummy muscles, what number pg (1st pregnancies usually take longer to show).

For me, with dd1 I didn't show until I was about 6m pg, then blossomed to have a full bump (and she was 7lb 5oz when born). With dd2, I was showing at about 19w. I wasn't much heavier but has been exercising much less!

People guessed by my boobs rather than my bump, but by 16 weeks I was definitely showing. First baby.

Around 16 weeks. Had to wear maternity clothes from 17 weeks. I am sure it's half fat though!

Only had 1 baby but I was really 18/19 weeks before I had any resemblance of a bump. I'd say 24 weeks before it was obviously baby and not cake/chocolate/more cake/etc.

Like you OP I was fairly sick the first trimester and actually lost about 5lbs during it. So wasn't until 12 weeks or so I even started putting on weight.

I'm only 7 weeks (and not put on any weight so far, so this isn't a weight gain thing), but my stomach is already becoming increasingly obvious and has done for about a week. I know baby is only the size of a raspberry but I'm very bloated and it's starting to get kind of obvious already. A couple of work colleagues who I've confided in have even pointed out (even though I had already noticed) that when I wear my nurse uniform I have a definite stomach bump (and I've noticed a couple of other colleagues looking at my stomach oddly). As I say I know it's bloating and not baby at this stage but it's so obvious I don't think I'm going to be able to hide this for much longer. Haven't been able to do my trousers / jeans up since I was 5 weeks! Surely this isn't normal! Shock

I was nearly 30 weeks before I was obviously pregnant with dc1. Before then, a stranger probably wouldn't have noticed. With dc2 it was more around 20 weeks.

I am only 6 wks pregnant, but I've been bloated since last week. I know it's not a baby, but still.. it makes the pregnancy more real. I'm so excited to have a nice visible bump and get a first scan, I can't wait!!
Anyway, I don't think I'll be able to hide it for very long. I've been feeling wee nausea sometimes and haven't vomited at all (so far), so I am not loosing weight. Hope to gain some soon tho'.

20 weeks on first- only showing in the last week or so, and can definitely hide it.

About 7 weeks I had the tinest bump, by 10 weeks pre pregnancy clothes didn't fit. It was a long pregnancy clothes wise!!!

Dd1 I was still wearing my prepregnancy trousers at 20 weeks and then literally over a weekend my bump appeared

Dd2 I was in maternity clothes at 11 weeks with lots of jokes about it being twins -was not funny!

Undoubtedly pregnant about 25 weeks but 'who ate all the pies' from about 18/19 weeks? Still very hideable at that point. Maternity clothes make you look more pregnant.

I am 15 weeks and have a small bump that is obvious some of the time in tight clothes (it seems to double in size between morning and evening). I am slim with absolutely dire abdominal muscles though so there's nothing holding it back and nothing for it to hide behind!

Around 22 weeks for me.

Apparently my bump wasn't obvious at all with DS2.

The number of acquaintances who did a double take at seeing me with a newborn baby before exclaiming "I didn't even know you were pregnant!" was just ridiculous. These were people who had seen me within the last few weeks of my pregnancy as well.

Around 20 weeks with first, and about 10 weeks with the second.

I'm 9 weeks with dc2 and I'm in maternity clothes already, well, maternity leggings. My clothes don't fit like they did but this is mostly bloating and very annoying. There's not even a year between pregnancies for me so that might be why. Obviously it's not baby yet and wish it would hurry up and be baby so I can relax a bit and not feel like I look like ive suddenly put on a ton of weight for no reason!
With ds1 I showed at about 15 weeks.
Love baby bumps!!!

I'm 11 weeks with #1 and to me it's obvious - my boobs and tummy are both huge compared with how I looked before. But some of it must be in my head because I still fit into all my normal clothes and they aren't even tight yet (apart from tights).

MummyPig24 · 31/01/2014 16:02

Dc1- never!
Dc2- 20ish weeks
Dc3- 16 weeks

I'm 34 weeks now and have gained 5lbs but I'm at the stage where you can't mistake it, I'm definitely pregnant!

It's been noticeable to me and DP since about 16 weeks, but now at 21 I still just look a bit fat unless I'm in my underwear, when it's much more clear. Still in my normal clothes and hope to make it a few weeks more yet!

Report
Chocpudding · 31/01/2014 20:57

I'm a tiny size 6 and I've been showing since 10 weeks. Im fully aware it's bloating rather than a 'bump'. Regardless it's prevented me fitting into my jeans.
