God you're huge!

Firstly, I am over the moon to be pregnant , very proud of and in love with my bump, stretch marks and all! BUT I'm finding it increasingly difficult to deal with comments about my size.

Anyone else feeling this. Im 31 weeks and everything measures as it should. if the general public are to be believed though then im having triplets or labour is imminent.

Yes. One colleague in particular says EVERY time she sees me that I'm huge, and that she wasn't even showing at all when she gave birth to her daughter at 30 weeks blah blah blah. I reserve the right to say good for you and then stab her in the eye with a biro Wink So yes, it annoys me a lot! Ignore them. I know it's easier said than done though...

Yes I have had this loads! Even when I was 26 weeks someone asked me how long I had left, when i told them they said,"you're a size then aren't you!" I was like, thanks?! Grin but same here I'm measuring spot on so just ignore them.

That's why I love working with Italians. They say 'God, you look beautiful' and if I look particularly massive and ploddy, they say 'god you look REALLY beautiful'

Oh God it's awful isn't it? I tend to get comments on how "small" I am, how I'm probably not eating enough and am I sure I'm that far along? But then the same day I'll get "God you look bigger every minute, your boobs are massive". Like you, I'm actually measuring completely on track for how far along I am. (27 weeks) After a rant to my dad he said "Well, you don't have to tell them the truth when they ask" so I have started saying I'm way less or more pregnant than I am, it keeps me amused anyway!

I'm only 17wks with my DC2 but I've had the size of my bump commented on repeatedly already-i do look 5/6months gone though but all the same I've had enough of the "are you sure there's only 1 baby in there?!" remarks I've been getting since I was around 10wks....I'm reasonably small (size 10) so bump is very obvious on me but in the same breath I still had a bit of a mummy-tummy from first pregnancy and carrying a little extra weight after coming off depo jab so I have an extra bit of padding on my belly anyway making my bump look bigger than it perhaps should be but not that much bigger that it should raise remarks like that given that my bump wasn't that much smaller at this stage when I pregnant with dc1 and nobody ever said anything like that to me then!

Don't people know that no matter what they're thinking inside, the only appropriate comment to make is 'what a neat bump, you look fantastic.' If you can't say that, say nothing about it at all.

Yeah it gets on my nerves too, and as much as I wish it didn't it does affect the way I feel about myself and my body. I think people genuinely don't think about the impact those words might have, and they might even think it's flattering or like their way of showing interest?

i got told 'oh my god you are HUGE' by a woman in the playground.
i was just as rude back, by saying 'you're growing rightly yourself, how far along are you', knowing full well she wasnt pregnant
that shut her up

Most people have been lovely and most importantly DH is saying how cute bump is. However, the general rude abrupt comments from the older generation at work have left me shocked beyond words. I don't honestly know how people can be so rude or think it is their right to judge. My dad is particularly sweet though.. everytime I see him he yahoo's and says how great it is to see me getting big.

Yea wouldn't mind doing the biro in the eye trick Wink

So agree-got told I 'was massive' by my boss at 13 weeks.... Then was given the Easter egg with the smallest number of calories (with a comment that it was the healthiest egg)

I can't believe how rude people are and how they seem to love commenting on my size. I'm a size 10 and still in floaty size 10 tops or more fitted size 12s. I don't think I'm huge, but do have a rounded bump, and has made me paranoid about my size...

GrrrAngry

I always got comments about my size when I was pg with my DS. One colleague in particular always said I was huge and was I sure it wasn't twins! As said it at least twice a week. And then after I had my DS she fell pregnant with twins!

Ah, I get told I'm huge all the time too - only 32 weeks but to be fair my bump is front and centre (and nothing else has got bigger) so it does look pretty enormous. I reply that they aint seen nothing yet - by the end I look like I'm smuggling spacehoppers down my top (this is my third pregnancy so I know how humungous I get).

On the plus side, looking like I'm about to drop does at last, at least, finally get me a seat on the tube - silver linings and all that

I'm only 19 weeks and I get it every day. Every single person I tell how far along I am responds with something along the lines of BLOODY HELL YOU'RE MASSIVE ALREADY. Am I going to have a monster baby?! (Answer: possibly, given how much it's bashing around already.)

Anyway... sympathies all round. And you're right dinkystinky... yay for getting seats all round Grin

Don't take any notice- last pregancy I was told how small I was so many times I became paranoid then ended up with a 10lb baby. This time everyone says I'm huge (to be honest I am) but I'm trying to keep my skin thick- who cares, they're probably just envious of your blooming skin and hair etc :)

I like that attitude spring. I'm 25 weeks and everyone who doesn't know better says I'm ' big','are you sure there's only one', 'you can't have long to go now'

I explained to DH that I might have to punch the next person and DH said you I'm going to have to get used to it... I didn't punch him. I love having baby in here, it's fine for baby to have my body as it's property to do what he/she needs. However, everyone else...can do one.

Aaaw thanks for that. I feel better. Very similar. I have tried in vain to make a joke, politely explain it's a bit rude but nothing has worked. I like the sit on them plan!

I have spent the lats 7 or so months telling off people about how completely rude and inappropriate it is to make comments about my size/bump or boobs !!!

WHY do people think it's ok to comment in this manner, just because I am pregnant?!

FUCK RIGHT OFF you rude people!

and breathe

Lol at rudeness from random folk. I got told how small I was plus randomly groped a lot when pg with my dd 9 years ago. I was working fulltime in a pretty physical job at the time and very fit so got away with size 16 trousers with a hair bobble through the fastner.

This time I started with a good beer belly and was a size 14. Im currently only 7 weeks and already getting ckments on boobs and belly.

So what. Im planning on being huuuggggeee! And if anyone feels thd need to insult my bump they had better get ready lol.

Even customers at work the other night were discussing me right Infront of me, one said 'ooh she's low isn't she, best not drink too much tonight then' - they were midwives....so I told them I've still 11 weeks to go....I love te horrified looks on their face, at least it shuts them up! Lol

"Are you sure its not twins"
"Look at those puppies"
