Can I go to no appointments and just turn up at hospital?

I'm pissed off with the care I've been receiving at my hospital. They talk to me like complete shit and are rude and dismissive, and I think it's because I have a high bmi.

They get everything on my notes wrong, at my last appointment they tried to tell me my baby had been in special care after birth, which isn't true, and I ended up having an argument and walking out.

At my latest appointment at 31 weeks they again just spoke to me like a piece of shit, didn't do my 28 week bloods AGAIN despite being 3 weeks late for them.

Presumably I can just get the nurse at my GP surgery to do my bloods and just not go to anymore hospital appointments and turn up in labour and they can't turn me away? I was electing to have a section but I'm not exaggerating, I leave every appointment in tears, I'm so stressed out, it can't be good for the baby.

I've been either crying or on the verge of tears for two weeks, and every appointment makes it worse. I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

You can give birth anywhere you like. You don't need to give a hospital notice (or even go to one) if you don't want to. But, with an elective c-section I assume you need an appointment for it...but I don't know.

I'd swap to a different hospital now you're under no obligation to use your nearest or even one in your area.

Go and see you gp or nurse and get them to sort it out for you.

If in any way possible, swap hospitals. I'm very high BMI and people have been nothing but helpful and wonderful (if busy... so I do have to repeat myself occasionally).

They should be concerned, but no-one's ever harped on about it or had a go, just raised it as an extra risk factor for me (at my various appointments.. high BMI + VBAC/ELCS means I get to see a lot more people it seems)

If you have the energy you might also make a complaint or speak to PALS who should help. It's outrageous that they should treat you this way.

If possible complain about it and change hospital.
If they treat you like this now, how will they treat you when you're having your baby?
You don't need to go to them. If you've got the transport to go to a different hospital then go and visit them.

Change hospital!

I've got a high BMI, to be honest the only ones who made a problem were the sonographer a who were very rude at my scans about it.... A quick "I'm sure you've had ladies with a higher BMI that have scanned easier, and equally ladies with a smaller bmi that have been tougher" statement soon shut them up - I had to complain after my first scan as the chap was truly awful!

Take it through the PALS team at your hospital.

If they are as you say why on earth do you want to go there in labour? You can do it of course. But you will make it much harder for them to care for you safely.

I'd switch hospitals, you don't need this crap now, let alone when you're in labour.

The answer to your question is yes. I think it would be a bad idea though.
