Anyone else nesting/being crazy cleaning lady? :|

Think it's safe to say I sure am! I'm 22 + 4 weeks. So far i've had a very slouchy pregnancy. But for the past week I have just gone off my rocker with house cleaning. My partner is even keeping his distance.
I've been spring cleaning like no tomorrow, shouting at the dogs when they make a mess and killing the cats when they walk on my freshly mopped floor (the little horrors) Envy Had a go at a bit of baking and knitting yesterday.

Anyone else on one? My poor child is probably thinking 'WHOA! What's going on!' haha.

Yes. I've just started my mat leave, am 36 weeks and have found myself unscrewing everything that's screwed down on the oven and cooker hood to scrub it with a scourer and toothbrush. The whole kitchen is pretty much done just need to repaint the woodwork and radiator. Then I'm starting on the utility room next.... It's crazy but its all now looking sparkly and good!

I spend a lot of the day cleaning and then DH comes home and ruins it. Walking on my clean carpets and eating in my clean kitchen and wearing clothes that I've washed. The bastard. We're moving this week and I cannot wait to get in the new house and give it a good deep clean top to bottom.

Yes I'm similar to glossy. 35+6, just started mat leave and want the house immaculate and perfect. I'm talking clearing out drawers, getting my Dad to help me cleaning behind the bed, quite obsessive really. I think it's two fold - one, I know it won't get done again for a long time, two - I want it lovely for when we bring the baby home!

Please, please all come round my house with your nesting hormones. Being induced in two weeks and the house is still a tip, baby's room still full of junk! Why oh why do I lack this urge?! Help!

I wish! I'm 11+2 and have gone the opposite way! Can't bear to think about cleaning - even washing my hair seems like an effort. Hoping the nesting kicks in soon!

Yes and I'm loving it, all the delicious smells of the furniture polish, dettol, zoflora and my favourite...bleach. Divine bleach. This is my third pg and I am exactly the same each time around 20 weeks +, I clean and scrub and hate people who mess my house up.

Dh using the basin and loo really makes my blood pressure rise because although he is v clean, there is always a bastard stray hair or fluff from socks on my freshly bleached floor. I'm looking forward to re painting the walls, scrubbing the carpets, repainting and cleaning the skirting boards and doing a mad clean out of the kitchen cupboards!

I'm a serious clean freak anyway but pregnancy makes it insane.

It kicked in for me at 21 weeks and I'm literally obsessed with an endless list still to go! Hoovered, dusted and scrubbed from top to bottom. Kitchen cupboards and painting still to do. Am 26 + 4 so still have loads of divine cleaning time. Bring it on!

seriousstuff don't you worry, the early pregnancy stage really takes it out of you. You have plenty of time for cleaning later Smile

Yep I thought it was just me too Grin I'm 37+2 and have been obsessed with cleaning for the last few weeks, I'm finding its making me really anxious as I have a just turned two year old and a husband that works outdoors (bringing in lots of dirt and mess) and he is also a clutter hoarder, grrrr, so my house still looks like a tip!!
Wish I could chill out, when DS is napping I get out the cream cleaner and start scrubbing skirting boards and cleaning radiator knobs, then I'm knackered by tea time!
I feel like I need a list for spring cleaning properly so I could do it in a more structured way!

Wow I can't wait until I get this urge!!! I'm already quite a lazy person when it comes to cleaning (although love it when I'm doing it) but this pregnancy has made me the laziest person ever. So I really hope the cleaning bug comes on really strong soon!!!

Wow! Love all your posts! :D I'm so happy i'm not the only one who's going off on a mad one and hating on anyone who disturbs the peace of my clean kingdom!

Like today, my crib is already set up, and even though it's brand new. I scrubbed it clean! Germs be gone!

Also. Zoflora. Oh sweet heavenly zoflora! It is THE BEST smell EVER :D

I've moved my firstborn (toddler now) into his "big boy's room" and have been getting old baby stuff down from the loft and washing it - buying stuff I'll need and generally getting the nursery ready. I'm only 25 weeks!!!!! But I do have a debilitating medical problem that can halt me in my tracks without warning, so any little burst of energy is being used with great enthusiasm Grin and I'm LOVING the nesting!!!!!!

First child and I'm 37 weeks exactly today have turned into a manically obsessed cleaner since about 23 weeks (was previously a "give it a wipe over that'll do" kinda gal) now am obsessive about everywhere being immaculate clean and bleached and germ free and its now 1am and I've ripped the hall carpet up and started tiling & grouting it as I painted it the other day and decided the carpet looked grubby so wanted tiles fitting and I refuse to wait and let someone else do it my whole house is heading for a repaint within the next few days as I can't fight the urge NOT to do it as want it all clean and fresh for my new baby (my partner thinks I've gone mental as I won't let him do anything so far his only jobs have been build the cot and rocking chair haha!)

God I wish! Envy

Instead I am slummy mummy of Slumsville - Population: Me

I would love a burst of energy/this nesting instinct I keep hearing about but my inbuilt resistance to Housework appears to be suppressing it.
